People tailgate for 8-12 hrs prior to the game but can't sit through a 3 hour game. I'm not talking about the fans that leave the game with 2 min left in the 4th quarter. I'm more interested in the ones that leave at halftime. Why not cut back on the tailgating a little bit so you can sit through the entire game? Would these people go to the games if they couldn't tailgate before them? I know there are many die-hard tiger fans, but it seems that a larger proportion of tiger fans these days are in it for the social aspect rather than the actual game.

I say 60% of the people who attend the game are more worried about tailgating.

I'm with you about tailgating being more importantt Stat. I am tired of seeing gold seats on the Westside with 12 minutes to go in the third quarter.

Oh, and for all of you who argue, "I pay for them, I can leave when I want," don't even type.

Our fanbase has become too snotty to go to all the games and cheer. I absolutely believe if we were up by 25 on Florida in the third quarter the stadium would begin to clear out.

Tiger Stadium has lost its mystique. Plain and simple.

There are a lot of people that go out there to tailgate with no intention of going to the game. That is the reason why parking is so damn bad.

Seriously, take up a collection and buy out all the tickets or go around and lock all the gates after kickoff

I'm just going to stand by the entrance to the rich seats and fight anyone who tries to leave.

90 percent of the people who put on a purple and gold outfit of some sort and show up with a lot of alcohol...well many of them don't go to the game and many of them don't really know what's up with LSU football other than who we're playing and how the seaons's going. Right now, Tailgating is a big time escape from a cruel economic world and so it has taken more of an importance to a lot of fans - I not being one of them.

That may be so, but USL still hasn't scored a touchdown on LSU since 1924.

Maybe when they build the Baton Rouge loop, it will alleviate the traffic issues...

Install those locking bars like you see on roller coasters on all the "rich" seats

Don't get me wrong. I love to tailgate. But I do so knowing that I'm getting revved up for the main even, the game. And I can appreciate fans that go tailgating with no plans to go to the game. But still, the game is supposed to be the main event, not the tailgating. I think a lot of tiger fans have it backwards, and it shows up in the second halves of games, and not all of them are blowouts.
