Is Rollins a ranter?

Did anyone else notice last night when they put the shift on for Deichman that Rollins nearly lost his mind? He seemed so amazed that it was taking place, like it was something he has never seen. He literally talked about it the entire at bat. The details he went into, about the second baseman being 10 steps out the infield, there being essiebtially two right fielders, etc. It really seemed this was the first time he was experiencing an infield shift.

Not sure why people worry about it
I'm fine with however a defense wants to align

Wasn't my point. My point was he appeared to have never seen a shift before, based on how he was talking about it. Instead of simply saying, the infield is in the shift, which 95% of viewers would have understood, he explained it like it was some foreign alignment.
Reminded me of a typical rantard who doesn't watch baseball and saw a shift, not knowing what it was, then comes on here to start a thread about this "new" baseball thing a team is doing. Kind of like a poster saying UNO was an elite team.

I see your point but Rollins has watched more baseball than most as a baseball commentator for years. He just over exaggerated the situation as he does with almost everything in the broadcast. He's just a quirky dude.

Probably lurks but it was an interesting strategy. I don't keep up with the numbers or know where a player generally puts a ball in play, so it was neat to see Georgia abandon 3rd.
Truth be told, it would probably make more sense to put someone behind the right-center wall.
/bad joke

Just saying it's a shift doesn't tell viewers enough about it... shifts happen for a reason, bc they look at Greg's spray chart. It's Rollins and Rantz's job to tell us why and what is happening

All I know is he is way too damn loud no matter the volume setting.

Yes I said the same thing. Why is he acting like he's never seen a shift before. It was really odd how he kept acting like he's never seen it with all the games he's watched.
Maybe he just doesn't watch mlb bc it happens much more there than in college.

Don't want to hijack the thread, but if other teams put on this shift, Deichman just needs to learn to bunt the ball down the 3rd base line. He could walk to first base for a base hit. The same thing happened to Mike Moustakas up here with the Royals and he finally decided to end it by bunting to an empty 3rd base.

I think he handled the shift perfectly on at least 2 occasions last night... without bunting.

It was hotter than a June bug on asphalt! That dude is hard to listen to. He doesn't have a radio voice but definitely has a face for radio!

I don't like to complain about them much though. I'm thankful to get to watch every single game.

The shift was so dumb. It's like Georgia just went off of lefty power hitter stereotypes. Deichmann has shown all year long he can go oppo and they still put the shift on. That is absolute horrible coaching.

Like him or not he has watched about 50 times more baseball than you.
The shift was worth talking about, remember, his audience is often made up of folks that may only watch 6 games a year.
Hell I didn't know it was the third baseman that shifted to shallow right, I had assumed it was the second baseman in shallow right with 5 and 6 shifting over

He's at it again.
Lynn....he's playing where a normal third baseman would right now so Robertson can't walk over to third base.

Lynn is irritating.

I didn't see it that way. To me, it sounded like he was describing the alignment and sharing some insight w/o obsessing over it.
