Lets just put it this way. We circle the Bama game and Bama circles us. Of course there are a few other circles on our schedule and one or two more on theirs. It's a rivalry in that sense but not in the hatred sense of a true rival.

Yes and I think it compares to some NFL rivalries. And just wait till we get LF, CR, Hoottie, CGarrett and the others who are coming to Red Stick but just can't say yet.

I disagree that lsu fans are trying to force a rivalry, we just acknowledge that bama iv the biggest game on our schedule most years since we are in the same division. And out has been the biggest game on bama's schedule as well. And the biggest game in the regular season on a national basis too.

JBeam you hit the nail on the head. It has to be youngsters that wish Bama was a true rival of LSU. Bama people simply view the LSU game as a tough game. Bama's biggest rival is Auburn and next is Tennessee. Auburn or Bama could have down seasons, yet one is capable of beating the other. Ole Miss was LSU's biggest rival since 1958 and you can bank on it, that if Ole Miss ever becomes good again, you young people will definitely see the hatred that these two schools have for each other. You need to go to You Tube and see the past LSU/Ole Miss games and the fans in Tiger Stadium and the games played in Jackson, Miss. BTW, Ole Miss cost LSU a NC back in 1969.

As long as the winner of the Bama/LSU game keeps determing the SEC West title, they are major rivals.

When Saban leaves for Texas, things might change.

and before that people kept saying LSU/Auburn was the most physical game of the year. It's a revolving door when it comes to LSU and feuds with SEC teams.

Again, taking the term rivalry to far. I understand Auburn and Florida are bigger traditional rivalries for us and Tennessee and Auburn are for the gumps. As Sheetbemd said though, it's the most important.
