Not so sure who is #2 for next year. Probably Jennings as Miles stated. If Rivers sticks around, I believe both will get 1st team looks in spring. I personally believe Jennings was elevated to #2 so both he and Rivers would have experience in the system in anticipation of Met graduating. Neither expects much PT unless Met goes down. Just my opinion.

Saw Jennings in Spring Game. Not gawdy numbers but a pocket presence and knows how to limit negative plays. Good feet and very good arm. Look for this kid to be the difference maker next year and what Miles wanted JJ to become.

You people need to stop dismissing the idea that Brandon Harris can come in and win the job. He may not do it immediately, but it will happen eventually. He is the real deal.

Do you really believe that Manziel is the product of good coaching?

Jennings is the real deal but maybe never get to play. So we can start next year with an inexperience QB. Les's way.

Until the next highly rated QB comes to campus, right?

Marshall was recruited by UGA to play QB. He wasn't going to supplant Murray and is an upper tier athlete who was a top recruit in the state and was moved to DB, where he would be starting and helping UGA this season if still there. Not like the guy came out of nowhere and was made a QB by Malzahn and his skills better fit AU's scheme than UGA's.

and it's not like Auburn is winning because of his passing abilities

Nah, but he could start at DB for AU, too.

Marshall isn't that good. He has some very good moments but will turn the ball over a bunch if you put the game on his back.

I've noted that the TV commentators have made a point during LSU's games of stating that it is sometimes almost unfair to have an NFL coordinator with a QB who has a big arm and some smarts with two excellent receivers. I am not sure Jennings is the type of future NFL QB that Cameron can use effectively and how do we replace Landry and Beckham when they turn pro?

I watched Auburn play Texas A&M. Malzahn, takes a kicked off the team defensive back from Georgia, turns him into a QB, takes him into Kyle field and wins a ball game. By the way, he will take a Auburn team, that went 0-8 in the SEC and go 10-2 and go to the Sugar Bowl. THAT sir is a coach, not the trifecta of Miles, Cam and Stud

I knew Malzahn was going to be trouble when he signed on as Auburn's HC. He did the same kind of turnaround in no time at Arkansas State. His teams are only gonna get better and probably the best threat to Bama's hegemony. 'Cause, at this point, it ain't us.

Rivers was recruited as a back-up from day one. He was always a project, and chose to come here with a slim shot at growing into starting material over playing time at a smaller school. Not knocking the guy, he's kept his nose clean and been great depth, but the only way he ever gets a meaningful snap at LSU is if something is really wrong.

Not sure, but he was not recruited by Richt or Saban.

He was recruited by a bunch of schools and it looked like Malzahn wanted him at Arkansas St before he got the Auburn job.

Nebraska, Oregon, Miss St., West Virginia, and Va Tech all made offers. That is a pretty good list. However, neither South Carolina or Tennessee (Tennessee!!) who both recruited him offered him a scholarship.

I hope you are right about the kid, our offense, our receivers, and our coaching. I just have my doubts.

If you recall, our receivers couldn't catch a cold the first part of last season. Now they are top draft picks. Basically, talent develops when given experience.

I don't think the receivers showed up last year until the Bama game.
