My only issue with tailgating spots is that I wish people wouldn't tailgate in the Memorial Oak Grove. Each tree there represents a fallen soldier, and shouldn't be a place to get hammered and play beer pong.

I'm not against those activities... just please, not in the Grove. I mean, I've seen people set up shop right on the memorial pillar. It's disappointing that the need for space pushes people into a space that SHOULD be treated more respectfully.

Not at all. And if it really has been your spot for years, just move their shite. We literally have been in the same spot for 15 yrs, moved a tent that some jackass set up last year

I have been in my spot for 5 years. But that being said, I think the new season always allows for some changes and if somebody gets out there in the first game and grabs it and stays there all year, then they are fine to stay there.

My problem are the people that come out there and set up a huge tailgate for one game a year, i.e. Bama, and try to take over a spot you've had for the entire year because they think it'll be cool to show up one time. Thats what really chaps me.

I love it when people try and say " hey you need to move because this is my spot and I have been here for years!"

I just reply with " Uhmm correction...this was your spot for years but it appears as if it's mine now! I was not aware that anyone could stake a claim to university land but now that I do would be so kind and hold my beer for a second while I take a piss on this here oak tree and officially mark this territory as my own!!!"

Yep.

Two seasons ago we just picked up some random's stuff and moved it 50 feet.

Yeah, this really wouldn't fly around our tailgate. My group is by far the youngest but we bunk up with a group of middle age guys who all have weekend drinking problems and whose lives have been oppressed by 25+ years of marriage. Their sole joy in fall is tailgating and they don't take it lightly. Most of them have been at the spot since the late 1970s. There are similar groups to our right and left who have been there forever as well.

Two years ago a group of younger 20 years olds got out there on Friday Night and set up shop (it's prime real estate, so I don't blame them). By the time I got there, these geezers had basically formed an assembly line and were moving these kid's stuff 50 feet away. One kid started to say something, but then thought better of it.

I can't wait to be old and stubborn.

And because you're an old guy, the cops would probably arrest the kid you punched in the face.

That looks like a high school band getting ready to start marching in the local mardi gras parade.

LSU will wise up and figure out how to lease tailgating spots one day. Until that day, it's first come first served whether it's all year or just one game. There are plenty of people from out of town who can't drive in every weekend.

We have tailgated in the same spot for years 3 years ago we moved and merged tailgates with my neighbor who has been in our current spot for 10 years.....I think it really isn't a big issue cuz most people who have tailgated in the same spot for a long time set up early on Friday at least that is what we do and we always have someone there so we never miss a game....i think if u don't always use ur spot and get there early then I guess u will have to be prepared to battle for your spot ....u should take better care of it

She'd never been to Tiger Stadium so in '98 I took her to her first LSU game. I told her it would make McNeese's look like a high school game.

Little did I know it would end up being called "The Earthquake Game".

TD pass from Hodson to Fuller with 1:41 remaining. Here's to you two studs. You made her a believer.

If you think about it long enough you will figure it out.

My opinion -

1.) WAAAAAAAY too expensive and difficult to manage and enforce, and

2.) The administration tolerates tailgating and views it as a necessary evil - the less tailgating there is, the more their concession profits will rise.
