With all of the discussions about the reasons our QB’s are performing below expectations, is it time to bring in a legitimate QB coach? IMO, I think so. Crowton may be a brilliant OC, but for me, he is falling short of expectations in the progression of our QB’s. Do we need another OC? I don’t think so. I think the problems that QB’s are having are manageable. I think they could benefit from a specialist.

No, that time was in 2007 when Crowton was hired.

A team is only allowed so many coaches by the NCAA.

If there's anyone here who didn't know that, I guess it's a good point.

It is Crowton's job as it was Jimbo's job to be the OC and QB coaches.

Absolutely,

How about you give Crowton more than a year to coach a QB and let JJ get through a season before trying to fire him or another coach. Jimbo's QB's were never very good until there Jr or Sr seasons.

Hell yes!!! It is obvious that Crowton spends no time developing the QB's. The fact that we don't have a QB coach is rediculous and Miles should be called on the carpet for it. Next year we will have at least 5 QB's on the roster and no one is spending time to improve their basic skill level. Jefferson has not gotten better since the Georgia Tech game. He has not progressed from game to game this year. No improvement what so ever. It is the most important position on the field and to not have a coach just for the position is bush league.

Roster:

1) Jefferson
2) Lee
3) Shepard
4) Garret
5) Zack Lee
6) McCarthy

I don't have a dog, so I don't need to buy dog food.

Why would LSU need a QB coach?

And that in itself is bullshite. Jefferson is not as good as Matt Barkley who is a true freshman, not as good as Jacori Harris who is a softmore, not as good as Colt McCoy was the first year he played, not as good McElroy who is playing for the first time and had less playing time coming into the season. To say that we just wait for their junior is stupid. There should at least be improvement from GA Tech game to now.

YES!!!!!

With our young QBs a QB coach would be a Godsend. Notice when JJ this year and JL last year came off the field there was no one there to coach up, hug, curse, explain, threaten, review, etc. Either a QB coach or Crowton needs to come down to the field. Every other position has their coach on the sideline(RB, OL, WR, DB, LB, DL). Wouldn't it make sense that the QB's need a coach on the sidelines as well. I believe it would work wonders.

How often have you seen the QB's on the phone to Crowton? It always seems like they are alone on an island during the games. No support. These are young gys. They need someone looking them in the eyes.

Are you seriously comparing Jordan, who had like 2 D-1 offers, to freaking blue chips like Matt Barkley and Colt McCoy?
Crowton works with the QBs in practice.

a "softmore"?

All our coaching positions are filled. What, however is the NCAA ruling on GA's? Are they considered coaches? I think I remember some high paid GA's at certain SEC schools.

If we need to get rid of a coach......Goodbye Yano, the guy that is brought in can coach QB's and be RC. TE's could be coached by our new OL coach.

I considered Jimmy Brumbaugh to be one.

Is there a limit on the number of GA's?

this goes back to my junior year in hs - my english teacher said to me - i cannot drill a hole in your head and pour the knowledge in!!

our problems are "young" qb's

jj will be fine - just takes time

we are out of cycle because of rp not being here

do not tell me about so & so qb that is also a freshmen - the manning boys are a good example of what good football intelligence does for you

jj came on late and does have a lot of work in reading defenses, etc - but u cannot drill a hole in his head and pour it in -

Thats the way its supposed to be..its hard to be top 5 teams when u want to play young rsfr or fr qb's..its not a good sign to your program when u need to do that
