No. Can be a totally different team a month from now. Young guys getting more reps & the pitching staff can get back on track. The SEC has no easy outs and the losses can pile up in the meantime. Not expecting much this year. Middle of the pack in the SEC.

What did you think about last year's team after we lost a series to Kentucky? And that was at home, in March as well.

They weren't exactly good during the pre-conference vs bad teams

That's the problem. It is over a month into the season and you have no idea what kind of team this is. The cupcake non-conference schedule does not help them at all.

If we didn't have such a young squad, maybe, but because of our non conference schedule, and our youth, we won't really know what this team is capable of until we see a few more series. I think our team will surprise a few people this year

This weekend hasn't been encouraging.

Nobody can argue with that.

Wait til it's a home SEC weekend, with warm weather, and big crowds.

It'll be a completely different team than this week. The weather definitely played a part in the weirdness of this weekend. We will be fine.

Not possible around here. If it were all the comedy of the Rant would be lost. Irrationality is the Rant's biggest asset.
But in all honesty it is better when LSU wins. That's when the foolishness hits the top.

How is that?

Would we have left so many people stranded if it had been warmer?

Would take a loss to every game the rest of the season for a win over Bama this year - in NOVEMBER!

Please tell me this is sarcasm.

Both teams play in the same conditions. One team is clearly better than the other right now.

Last season they won their first two SEC series before UK and scored 21 runs that weekend against Kentucky so the situations aren't really comparable.

Got swept first SEC series in 2008 and struggled until they went on that insane run, not losing until the super regional.

Different teams. Just saying bad starts have happened and turned around.
