Is it now obvious that it's not the QB as much as it is the OFFENSE?

Lee, Jefferson, now Mettenberger
All highly rated quarterbacks..all underperformers when implemented into the LSU offense. While they never really played lights out, isn't it more the offense than the quarterback? And hasn't stagnant offensive play really infected the confidence of the entire offense?

well jefferson regressed after we tried to make him a running QB and lee didn't have a good mental makeup after 2008

Yes. But pocket presence would help

He was thrown to the wolves in a clown offense in 2008. Didn't help that he had self esteem issues but i'm sure getting railed that season didn't help his psychological makeup

our offense in 2008 wasn't that bad, actually

Our current offense makes Crowton's look like the 2000 St. Louis Rams

I still think it's on both parts. Our offensive scheme is rudimentary and uninspiring, and can become predictable regardless whether we run or pass. Our coaching staff don't know how to utilize the talent we have and did a bad job correcting their mistakes. That being said, Mett's slow feet, Jefferson't panic, and Lee's fear for contact are on their own. They are not very legitimate SEC QB eiter.

We are QB spoilers... We take a good QB and teach them nothing and then throw them to the wolves.
Mett made horrible reads last year! Absolutely horrible. He's garbage but it's not his fault.

Manning and Brady could not have run the offense this year.

Mettenberger has an absolute cannon of an arm..if we had a couple big wideouts, 1 big TE + Landry, we would be set
Oh, and the right side of our o-line not getting molested would help too

Well that's just not true. I have as many problems with our scheme as the next person, but execution has been pretty horrid too. If you have a QB that hits on the throws he desperately needs to hit, we score at least 7 more points in every game, most likely. 7 is admittedly an arbitrary number, but I feel like we've seen at least one overthrow on a deep ball that could have been a TD per game.

Both he and Lee got thrown into a bad situation in 2008.

It is 100% the offensive philosophy. We telegraph our plays by our formations and personnel. Other teams, even with weaker defenses, can game plan to slow us down and make every hard for our offense a struggle.

Our defense was so bad in 08 it put too much pressure on a rookie quarterback.
If Tennessee had not fired Fulmer, therefore making Chavis available, Miles would probably have been history at LSU by now.

Vesperia is dead in- solid post. I couldnt have set it better.

Of course it's the offense. Our playcalling fricking sucks!

10-4, Why would any top WR or QB prospect want to play for the stubborn SOB of a coach we have? Les will never change in that regard guys. The Les Miles philosophy is to get a lead 1 point or 30 points and have our offense just lay down and have our defense get their dicks kicked in the rest of game. I'm sure that's very popular with players. Miles could hit the frikin road any day his time has passed. That shite last night was as embarrassing as last years bowl for the players and school.

Truth to this. Quick.... Fords in. What are we running? A sweep. Hill? Off tackle? Ware? Quick toss up the middle or a screen depending on down and distance. It got fairly predictable. And with an O line that wasn't dominate we couldn't dictate our will on anyone.

LSU is giving up like 330 yds a game passing the ball in our last 4 games and gave up leads in both L's in the last min of each game, but lets talk OC.
Talk bout not being able to see the forest for the trees.
