Is it just because it's Saban and Bama?

I constantly see the Rant compare Miles/LSU to Saban/Bama.
So my question is, that if you put Bama's success on any other team not in this region, say Stanford, Oregon, Michigan, etc, would the Rant constantly compare Miles/LSU to that team?
My guess would be no

I believe its more about the fact that its a team in our division and the fact that our former coach is there just pushes it to a level of borderline unbearable.

No is right..it's becasue this guy could have done it here and is now destroying our program by doing it at bama. of course miles is helping him by not having his players ready for games like ole miss this year and many others over the years.

He's the standard by which any top program has to compare itself to. The fact that he's at Alabama makes LSU fans obsess over him, sure. But he looms large for all wannabe contenders.

no way. Lets say saban was never the coach at bama where would lsu be? LSU would likely have atleast two more SEC titles and a bcsnc title. Best part is our recruiting would be better also. Saban could have gone to any other school in the nation and it wouldnt have the effect it does now.
