I'm at the meet. OU is everything they're hyped up to be. Looks like LSU took 2nd.

She did.

Fell off the beam and short on a floor pass.

For the gymnastics experts...is this the point where DD has to add some more difficulty to the routines to try to get the scores up? Or do we just have to execute what we are doing better? 197.700 is a hell of a score and we were still beaten in every event by Oklahoma.

Oklahoma is absolutely stacked. I would say our routines have more difficulty in a few events, but OU does enough for the 10.0 start value and hits consistently. 197.7 is extremely well done, especially away from the PMAC, and with Hambrick struggling (has had a few shaky meets since Alabama).

It is tough to lose, but adding a 197.7 away score to the season total is great.

I watched (if you can call it that) on FloGym. The only rotation you could actually see was Bars. You could sometimes catch a glimpse of the other rotations in the background. What happened to Myia on beam and floor? I couldn't see what happened, just saw her low scores. I hate to see her have an off night - she has been my favorite to watch and usually rock steady. I'm hoping she comes back strong on Sunday!

FloGymnastics has to give it up. There were three SEC teams in this meet and the SEC Network has been unbelievable in their gymnastics coverage. In my opinion, they get better and better every year. It was a terrible watch and not worth the $20 charge tonight.

Maggie Nichols from OU had a 39.925 All Around Tonight.

Vault - 9.975
Bars - 9.975
Beam - 10.000
Floor - 9.975

She is a former Olympian and only a Freshman.

Agree with LSU grad. Our team is really good. We've got enough difficulty. We've got full start values. It's execution. OU has difficulty as well but executes near flawlessly, best I've seen at this point in the season. Will be real tough to beat.

OU is just absolutely stacked.... They will be impossible to be at Nationals unless they beat themselves.... I hate to say that, but it looks to be true..... Tonight their Lowest score was a 9.80.... They had two of those on vault so they had to count one other than that everything else was higher.... Maggie Nichols.... What else can you say.... It was still a travesty that she did not make the Olympic team.

As for our Tigers, we have an incredibly talented team with great depth.... Almost any other year it would be a hundred percent are here with execution.... But the Sooners are just incredible

I'm not sure if Myia was a little sick tonight, or is just beginning to be fatigued with a long season but she definitely was a little low on the energy level tonight

Nobody is beating Oklahoma this year. They perform to perfection on every single thing they do. LSU will literally have to stick every single landing and hit every handstand to have a chance to beat them at nationals. Even when OU doesn't hit something, judges close their eyes and still give them a big score.

Some of the routines I saw, even with the terrible feed, were just overscored. LSU has taken a LOT of crap about being overscored in the past, but this team has stayed in 197.4-197.8 range for just about every meet. The fact that OU had 4 total 9.975s and 1 10.000 tonight says something. Many people just laugh at this point and hope that Nationals evens things out.

The Ladies have a meet Sunday v. George Washington and Iowa which I hope to see Myia back and rolling. In my opinion, winning the SEC Regular Season Title and the SEC Championship meet, should be the first order of business. We will see OU again and who knows what could happen when that occurs!
