I think he'll be moved to Saturday starter against Ole Miss.

Even though they weren't the Sunday guys all season, Bouman/Cartwright had a great year back in 2014.

LSU is 3-1 in his SEC starts and the loss was when Walker pitched a shut out for 7 innings before being removed by pitch count and rightfully so. The simple answer is yes.

In the A&M game he should have went one more inning.

I don't think that is really in question at this point.

Aaron Nola was a Sunday guy his freshman year if I remember right. Although he might've moved to Saturday at some point. I can't really remember

hindsight is 20/20. Walker had already thrown a career high 108 pitches through 7 innings. Newman came in and allowed no runs in the 8th. He told Mainieri he was done after the 8th. Gilbert came in for the 9th, hadn't pitched all weekend, and had his worst outing of the year in the 9th after being very reliable up to that point. Nothing about how the pitchers were managed in the A&M game was a poor coaching decision. Sure the result isn't what we wanted, but you can't just go back and say, "well we lost because Walker should have pitched another inning." Had he pitched another inning, Gilbert very likely still would have come out in the 9th instead of Newman pitching at all, given Gilbert hadn't been used all weekend and it was Newman's first weekend back from an injury. It's not like people thought it was a bad move to bring Gilbert in with a 3 run lead going into the 9th inning based on how he'd been playing this year. No one complained until after he had the bad outing.

yeah he wasn't moved into a weekend starting role until mid-april. McCune was our 3rd starter until then

It it was going to happen, which I don't think it will, the following week vs. Kentucky would be the series to do it with the extra day of rest for every pitcher.

Friday night pressure and atmosphere is tough for a freshman to handle and I totally expect PM to keep Walker where he is.

Forgot about that. Gausman, Eades, Nola.

Cotton, Goody, Rumbelow, Broussard in the pen. fricking stacked.

Walker was throwing effortless, they weren't squaring anything up on him. It cost him a series.
But yeah, I don't think Walker goes all 9 against Hogs if he extended him against A&M.
