it seems like it.

His state line from 2007 was nasty

101 tackles
63 solo
5 TFL
1 sack
6 picks
153 isn’t return yards

All American
Thorpe award finalist

Yet he isn’t quite brought up like Hester, Flynn or Dorsey when that 2008 team is discussed.

Also how did Jessie Daniel start over him?

First LSU game I ever saw, Craig Steltz had 3 INTs.

I would say so. He played well when his number was called and always seemed to make plays in the clutch.

I just remember his first like 3 games that year being unreal. He had like 5 or 6 picks in those games alone.

Did you watch the next game? He had 3 picks in that too I'm pretty sure... 6 picks in 2 games wasn't it? Moo state and auburn(¿fact check?)

Edit -- Also, does anybody have the Moo state player who got knocked out 2 games in a row vs LSU. Clean hits btw.. just felt bad for the guy cause he didn't catch a break at all

He will knock the shite out of you. He won us the Alabama game in 2007. The Bama wr would have caught a first down driving down the field but steltz came in with the hit and game over. I saw him kill a Kentucky player and he was busting heads in that 2007 Florida game.

He was at Ruth’s Chris after the 2007 Arkansas game. I was a senior in HS. I told him “hey man, tough game but you played insane.” He patted me on the shoulder and said “thanks man.” I was on cloud nine.

He was definitely a favorite of mine.

I sat by him at dinner after his 3 INT game. PF Chang’s. My girlfriend told his girlfriend to do him right.

Good lord I'm old. How old are you?

First game in person? Because that was at State and it was pouring down rain.

We won 45-0 and of course the rant had a melt that we weren't any good.

How can you consider an All-american underrated?

I agree, he was underrated. Steltz's named gets lost amongst all of the other great safeties we've had over the past 15+ years, maybe because he only truly started for one full season, but it was a hell of a season. Almost everyone on that 2007 defense was a playmaker, at least it feels that way 11 years later
