Even though the team started off bumpy, its been amazing to see the gradual improvement. The team is patched together but still has a chance at playing in the conference championship. If we beat Alabama, is the COTY award his to lose?

No, we would have to beat Bama and win out and make it to Atlanta. But yea if we do that then I don’t see who else is more deserving.

Have to win in Atlanta if it’s against TN.

Right now he is s contender with Heupel, Smart, Kiffin and Beamer.

It all depends on how things play out.

ETA: SEC coty

Are you serious? Heupel is undefeated and just beat Bama for the first time in 15 years not to mention blew us out. Heupel by a mile.

If Kelly wins no less than 3 of the next 4 it is possible…..but Josh Heupel has done a tremendous job thus far.

I think it’s Heupel‘s to lose. If Tennessee nose dives & loses 2 games & doesn’t make it to the SEC C game, it could be someone else’s to win. Id have to say that CBK would definitely be a candidate.

Kelly probably had the most to do with the roster rebuild that he had to accomplish with the portal. But LSU is a great job, is easy to recruit to and is just a few years removed from a national championship. What Heupel has done has been extremely impressive considering that Tennessee was crappy for most of the last two decades. Kansas' coach, TCU's coach and Fritz at Tulane have also done great jobs so far.

The FSU and Tennessee games were poor coaching performances, but FSU was the first game and FSU had a game on LSU already. Other than the decisions made in the Tennessee game (not the loss because Tennessee has a great team), we've won on the road at Auburn and in The Swamp and won 3 of 4 SEC games by double digits. LSU is tied for 1st in the West going into November. Either way, we probably couldn't have asked for more from a coach in his first year at LSU considering where the roster was when he took over.

I think BK would get it if he can win the SECCG or NCG... But he has to get there first.
