In no way am I complaining. I hope he stays until he hangs it up. I don't get why no program has tried to target him for a head coaching job. Is it because he just isn't intrested? Or is it because everyone else is that stupid?

Even coaches that say they aren't intrested still get targeted heavily and get outrageous offers. I find it crazy no one is making a huge push for him.

Doesn't come across as very ambitious. Good for us, he's a damn good DC. One of the very best in the nation.

He's made clear over the years that he has ZERO interest in being a HC. Why would they make a push when he makes it abundantly clear he doesn't want to do it?

I assumed he had no intrest, but I never heard interviews or anything. I figured thats what it was, I was just wondering if anyone on here knew for sure.

doesn't have anything to do with lack of ambition.

I took a manager job at one point and hated it. Went back to the technical track and loved it.

Chavis loves being a top-notch DC at a major program. That's his dream job and he's living it.

That seems most likely. Considering how much money he makes he can well afford to continue at what he loves to do, i.e. coach a dominating defense. Sure, he could maybe make more money as a head coach somewhere but I'd be very happy to make his current income doing what I love.

More power to him.

Trust me....I went to additional school for nearly a decade....I manage a staff now, and honestly, if I could do my job without having to manage said staff, I would enjoy it immensely more than I do now.

If you call a decade's worth of professional school a lack of ambition, then you've got yourself a misguided notion of what ambition really means.

He doesn't like the spotlight, and he doesn't like interviews, strictly a team coach about buisness only
