Only a few SEC teams have more conference championships than we do. But this is now the measure of historically good football programs like Ohio State, Nebraska, USC, and that other conference school I won't mention. They say LSU has one Heisman winner and 14 conference championships. What's our magic number? I think 20 conference championships and 3 Heisman winners puts us in the elite category.

We are 4th in SEC titles, behind Alabama, Tennessee, and Georgia. I think we are one behind UGA. LSU has 11 SEC titles and UGA has 12.

Interestingly, LSU has 11 SEC football championships and 11 MBB championships. (Only regular season titles are really SEC Tiles in MBB.)

Only Alabama, Texas A&M, and Tennessee have more. We're tied at 14 with Georgia and Vandy.

No one cares about any "championships" except SEC championships. Who cares how many times A&M won the SWC?

Yep 14 conference championships is enough. Let's stop playing now while we are still ahead.

Being elite is more then conference championships... It's winning tradition conbined with history, fanbase, recruiting, and even money.

LSU is elite, and anyone who tells you otherwise is probably an Ole Miss or Bama fan...

Yet the sheeple repeat the same blather tha tLSU is not a basketball school when discussions about doing whatever it takes financially to get the type of coach and any other support needed to get LSU basketball back into national prominence.

LSU has the second most storied SEC basketball tradition behind Kentucky when considering league titles and legendary players. Florida in the last decade has been a major national player but overall the nod goes to LSU.

I made this argument a while back. From 1979-1993, basketball was the shits. Elite program.
LSU in the 1986 season was very good at all 3 major sports. CWS, final four, SEC football title.
