I could not disagree with him. Based on MANY of the LSU games and the way they performed, I dont think I would be overly impressed with them and certainly not intimidated by them either. Hope they show up for the bowl game.

The Tigers better use this to fire themselves up and not to play comfortable.

Quote at the Bottom

I think LSU has Iowa's full attention and respect...

"We're going to assume that he's good," Hitches said. "He's mobile as we've seen in the film we have. We'll have our hands full with a mobile quarterback who is a good athlete so we have to keep preparing like he's good.

"They're not one dimensional. They can run the ball. They can pass. The quarterback can scramble. We're going to have our hands full."

"I don't know if they will run it more but I wouldn't be surprise if they utilize him maybe in the running game," Ferentz said. "They may not either. Their running backs are really good. It's not like they need another one.

"It gives you one more thing to defend. I imagine we'll see some of that. We see it in the course of the year. It doesn't diminish the fact they've got at least two really good receivers a stable full of running backs."

Iowa cornerback B.J. Lowery said he doesn't expect LSU to change much and he's not worried about the lack of film. He's said the tendencies they might learn isn't as important as the fact LSU will likely run the same offense it has all season

"When they threw him in they were running pretty much the same offense the starter did," he said. "We're expecting the same things plus a some added things like the running quarterbacks we played.

"He doesn't play like a freshman. He throws the ball down the field and when the pocket closes he knows how to get out."

We don't have a typical great LSU defense. We lost to Ole Mississippi's second team and got lucky to beat the worst SEC team in years at home. We are also playing with a back up quarterback. Who would be scared of that. Don't be surprised if we get our arse kicked. They will run right at Welter. Power game hurts us

We lost to the 2nd to last team in the SEC Ole Miss, and almost lost to the last team Ark. .

If We had a good coach I would say this game would not be close. However, with Les Miles at the helm we play down to our opposition.

Louisiana is #1 per capita in putting players in the NFL. Lsu is probably #1 in 5 year average in players on NFL rosters. Miles has no competion in
this state.

He has had the most talent to work with.

This makes me even more hype for the game. Iowa is going to come in believing 110% that they can beat us. We can't act like were invulnerable. For Christ sakes it took a miracle 99 yard touchdown drive to beat fricking win less Arkansas. We won't beat Iowa because we have this sec entitlement that says we are better than everybody. We will beat them because we are the better team and we will play ?the better game.

I for see a good hard fought game, but LSU shows its dominance in the 4 th quarter. 28-17

If Lsu wasn't motivated by Alabama trash talking three years straight then iowa will do nothing.

His point was that the media hype around SEC teams makes it SEEM like they walk on water.

It ought to seem that way, because the SEC, top to bottom, is clearly, in every conceivable way, better. Don't believe me?

Let's take draft picks for instance...

quote:
The SEC dominated Thursday night's first round, accounting for 12 of the first 31 picks (as opposed to just one for the Big Ten and Big East). The league's dominance continued through all three days, with its 63 draft picks setting a new record for most from one conference and doubling the total of any other league. The vast majority of those selections came from the SEC's four premiere programs: Alabama, Georgia, Florida and LSU. Those four teams accounted for more draft picks than any league.

The ACC recorded 31 picks, including six in the first round. It was a disappointing draft for the Big Ten and Big 12, which only got 22 selections each.

LINK

How about titles? During the BCS era...

2012 Alabama BCS
2011 Alabama BCS
2010 Auburn BCS
2009 Alabama BCS
2008 Florida BCS
2007 Louisiana State BCS
2006 Florida BCS
2005 Texas BCS
2004 Southern California BCS
2003 Louisiana State, Southern California BCS, AP, FWAA
2002 Ohio State BCS
2001 Miami (Fla.) BCS
2000 Oklahoma BCS
1999 Florida State BCS
1998 Tennessee BCS

That's 9 titles by the SEC (with another potentially on tap), one by the Big 10. In fact, were it not for tOSU, the Big 10 would have ZERO appearances in the title game. The last two times they showed up in the big game...you guessed it...they got waxed by an SEC team.

The Big 10, by ANY measure, is a lesser football conference to the SEC. Nothing to do with ESPN and everything to do with the product being put on the field. The outcome of our upcoming game has little to do with this truth.

Seems like small potatoes compared to what Iowa's Matt Roth 'said' before the game the last time these teams met.

honestly, do you think our guys really want to play a bowl opponent that is going to roll over and play dead? I didn't see anything discrediting LSU.

I'm sorry bud, but all those teams are down this years besides MSU with that good defense. Ohio St is pathetic every year and overrated every year. Wisconsin is young and not to good. Penn St is always that average mediocre team. If y'all were to be good, y'all would win some of the KEY games

1) Typica - OSU sucks because you beat them a few years ago...bla bla bla..they'd finish last in the SEC bla bla bal. Bull Crap. They may not have belonged in the NC game but they are a very good team. Their O is better than LSU's.

2) Wisconsin is losing a lot of players this year. Thy are not young by any stretch. Most of their D will be new starters next year.

All they had to do was watch the Ole Miss and Arkansas games - enough said.
