Most certainly a worthy opponent, but one that can be run off the field depending on which LSU shows up. I really want to see LSU close out the season on a high note with a dominating 4 quarter performance. We have the weapons to put up some points on Iowa. IF we can put some points on the board, we can win this game by double digits. Again, depends on which team shows up though. I have a feeling it will be a dominant performance.

Oh, absolutely. I wasn't saying there's no way we blow them out. Rather, people that automatically assume we're going to beat up on some shitty B1G team are a little off. I think they'll be motivated and they'll run straight at us. Should be a good one, IMO. Of course, I'd rather us just blow them the frick out.

They didn't beat a single top 25 team.

Good teams should show up no matter who they play. If they don't, then they're just not as good as everyone thought.

You're a visitor here, so I'll go easy... LSU has a reputation for playing down to opponents perceived as inferior.

But rest assured, your team will not be looked down upon or "overlooked." Unfortunately for you, CLM will have his boys ready.

I think motivation would be more of an issue if Mett was starting. AJ will be highly motivated and it will be contagious

I always love the ignorant "we" comment when talking about the opposing team.
"I" will take them lightly. You can go ride the short bus.

This will not be an easy game for us. It just won't. Jennings starting his first game along with the team probably not too excited about playing playing a B level team like Iowa... Iowa will be sky high with a chance to beat an SEC team that is in the National Championship hunt every year. The team needs to come out with a major chip like they did against Texas A&M...If they come out flat like they did against Arky it could be a long New Year's day for us.

I agree that it won't be an easy game, but not because they got by Michigan and Nebraska. Nebraska is a shell of a team without their QB Martinez, and a fairly good team with him. Michigan is a mess period. If the coaches allow our players to show up and not play with a sense of purpose and sleepwalk, it could be a very tough outing. If our guys show up motivated, focused, and knowing their assignments, I think we win comfortably.

Think he is refering to 1/1/10,1/9/12, & 12/31/12 which would indicate CLM 1W out of last 4 trend; Yes this is a big bowl game for CLM to get back in a W trend!
Hey, what other Tiger coach has L in 2 bowl games in same year?
FWIW am a CLM supporter even though think he needs to get this one!

so..how do you tell if LSU "shows up" or not? If they win they showed up if they don't then they didn't show up - circular argument / self fulfilling prophesy.

If LSU "shows up" Iowa will get blown out by at least 21 points. If LSU plays down to Iowa like we have been known to do, it will be a close game.

Really?

We completely owned the Heisman trophy winner 2 games ago and then gave up a lot to a pretty lousy Arkansas team. Clearly there was a difference in the way the team played in those 2 games. We won both of them, but a different LSU showed up against A&M than the LSU that showed up against Arkansas.

LSU can show up and still lose the game.

Nice try though.

Nevermind. Posts like this one make me realize why the Iowa fan asked that question.

Teams have flat games all the time. We barely beat 3-9 Arkansas. But we got a W at the end of the day, and that's all that matters.
