Sitting here in the Pmac at the annual 4-H University assembly. Vice President Richardson introduced F. King Alexander to speak and he says "When President Alexander first came here three years ago he was one of the first presidents to realize the the A in LSU A&M stands for agriculture and not athletics." Does this mean that the president is anti-athletics or just pro agriculture? Take it for what it's worth.

Lighten Up Frances!

Consider the venue where the comment was made, it's not anti-athletics it's pro-agricultural!

I like people who think the A stands for Athletics.

He's pro university, athletics is a small part of that. And that's the way it should be.

Effete city dwellers wouldn't know this, but it's a big deal out in God's Country.

I grew up "out in God's country." I was in 4-H. It's not that big a deal.

While the United States is far from Thomas Jefferson's vision of a nation of yeoman farmers, I'm glad 4H still exists.

I'm also glad FKA realizes the A in LSUAM does not stand for "Athlectics."
