Interior Defensive Line Too High

It was painfully obvious last night that our interior d-Linemen are giving up leverage by playing to high. It was especially noticeable on the goal line plays! You can't win battles on the line of scrimmage by losing leverage. Success in future games will require that our interior d-linemen are fundamental in pad height, arm extension and leverage. With our current offense, the line of scrimmage play is the only thing that separates us from bama type success!

The Rant coaches making a return
Next thing you know, you're going to be lecturing all of us on "route trees."

LSU misses LaCouture. Gilmore gets blown off the ball way too easily because he stands up and looses leverage. Herron plays hard on 1 play then takes off the next two. Godchaux is LSU only great DT (at this point), but he's more of a pass-rusher than pure run stopper.
The two Freshmen are going to be good players (Lawrence/Alexander), but they are still young. Valentine could be a difference maker against the run. But after 3-4 years of this drama, it's becoming more and more evident he doesn't particularly give a shite.
Another year of Coach O and the DL would start to resemble the D-lines of 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012. The drop off at that position since 2012 is one of THE biggest reasons LSU hasn't been dominant on D over the last 4 years. It's getting back, but not there yet when you still have to rely on two highly touted D-linemen (Gilmore/Herron) who have done virtually nothing in their time at LSU
