Home ERA - 2.07
Neutral Site ERA - 1.62
Road ERA - 6.7

Average start - 4.1 innings.

Faced LSU in Wally Pontiff Classic, going 1 inning, giving up 1 run - a solo bomb to GOAT.

If the Cajuns were really taking their best shot at Game 1, they would have started Leger. I think they are gunning (pun intended) to win Sunday and force a Monday game.

I agree, but it is a big gamble...

They are a massive underdog. It's not really that big of a gamble for them.

Agreed. Pretty much conceding a loss in the super is risky.

No reason to waste Gunner's start against Lange.
I like the move.

It's not a waste if it gives you a shot at a win.

It's not a bad move. The Cajuns don't have anyone who can match up opposite Lange but their other guys can against the rest of the Tiger starters. It could be a smart move but it could also look full retard if they lose Saturday. Especially if Lange happens to be off tonight and the Cajuns lose a close one.

ULL has to look at what gives them the best chance to win 2 out of 3 games. Starting their number 1 against Lange is probably not the answer. However, it's baseball, so this kid could go out and throw and absolute gem and Lange could shite the bed. Are they not wanting to waste their ace against Lange? Yes. But, they aren't conceding the game. I think the game will be decided by less than 4 runs.

There's a reason most teams stack their ace against the other teams's ace each Friday. It gives them the best chance to take one from the opponent's best pitcher. Its risky avoiding the matchup.

Even if Leger throws against Lange, they would need Lange to have an off game. Leger, even on a good night, is not going to outmatch Lange if he's on his game, and their lineup is not is good as ours.

ULL is thinking that their absolute best change to win 2 of 3 is to win on Sunday and Monday, so they are going to throw their best two pitchers on Sunday and Monday.

The problem is, you could get swept on Sunday and leave your second arm in the dugout, but I think that's a risk that you take.

Agreed. Lange could pitch a gem and lose 2-1 if their Ace was dealing. On the other side, we could get the W from Lange and their Ace have an off game Sunday. It's all about getting the bats going for us.

You make good points, and like we all realize, strategy is only as good as the results acquired. Three games is a very short series to concede a game. Maybe it's their best chance. Personally I hope they fail big time.

The dilemma they are going to run into is, what happens if Wyatt is running into trouble, but LSU has only scored 3 runs or so in the 4th inning. At that point, you have to give yourself a shot and come out with your top relievers, but you may burn up your pen to lose the game 3-0.
