During Cam's 11 years in the League, with a rookie Ray Rice splitting time with Willis McGahee and Ronnie Brown only playing 7 games, his leading tailback receiver averaged-averaged now-3.9 receptions per game and better than 62.5 receptions per year over a 16 game season. Obviously they targeted more and threw to other backs as well.

Through two full seasons at LSU, he's averaging 1.3 receptions per game from the leading receiver, and this year its even worse per game. Through the first 9, we're barely averaging 1.1 receptions from the backs per game.

Say what you will, but while Cam has some responsibility for the lack of QB development the past two years, someone else's hand is on the wheel...and the brakes.

Miles should just name himself OC if he comes back next year..it'll never happen bc there wont be anyone to blame if the O runs into a wall.

LT probably throws that average off.

LF is out there running routes, Harris doesn't check down enough.

Good point. Went back and looked at the #'s. If you leave off Rice's rookie year where he finished with 32 (he split time with Wilis McGahee who had 24 catches himself), he averages 69.5 receptions per year from 2009-2012.

LT averaged 67.8 from 2002-2006. When you factor in Little Ray's rookie year he drops below LT of course.

Are you suggesting that LSU's QBs are able to check down just as well as NFL QBs and that the ONLY reason for fewer passes to the RB is because Les Miles is tampering with Cameron's offense? Is that really what you're trying to say?

Why don't you go check how many times his offense threw to the t.e's. Gates had his best years under cam.

The complaints people have, cam has done in the past. He's thrown to rb's and te's.

miles is forcing cam to use blocking fb and blocking te. miles won't let a receiving te play because he can't block well enough.

what was the difference in the yards per carry in the NFL versus the NCAA? Could his position be 'why throw it for 6 when you can hand it off for 5.5?"
