Let's say LSU wins out, including the SEC Championship Game, and Bama's only loss is to us. Does the Playoff Committee select:

A. Both LSU and Bama
B. 2 loss SEC Champ LSU
C. 1 loss didn't even win their division Bama
D. Neither team

alabama. better record, 11-1 versus 10-2. It would be most unfortunate, but we simply cannot forget our two losses because Les was still HC then.

I could understand that if we beat them in a close game, but what if by some miracle we blew Bama out?

The other factor is how much importance the Committee places on winning your league.

it depends how the rest of the country shapes out. If Clemson, Washington and Ohio State finish undefeated then only team will come from the SEC to the playoff

I would have used aTm for the scenario, but it's aTm.

I think B can happen but it will take LSU winning all of their big games in some sort of good fashion.

If we can somehow beat Mama, Ole Miss, Arky, Florida, and A&M but double digits there is no way the committee can overlook a team like that. Especially since we would be undefeated with our current team with Coach O.

Now, if we don't win in great fashion and barely squeak by Bama they will be the ones going to the playoffs with 1 loss.

This is assuming there are no undefeated teams remaining.

B.

Head to head and conference champs are both part of their criteria.

I actually think we'd go in that situations n. We'd be on an 8-game winning streak, most of them against ranked teams. And we'd have both the head-to-head and conference championship over Bama. I think that would matter more to the committee than it did to the computers and coaches'/Harris polls in '11. But it would be great if Wisconsin finishes will only 1 more loss and USC loses a few more.

W/o the Florida game, it would have been C. With Fl, I would go with B. I'm betting the selection committee will honor their stated belief that a conference championship matters. A will come into play based on how the season goes for the other conferences the belief above.

Yeah, it would be tough to get there if Wisconsin only has 2 losses. I suspect they finish with 3, though.

If we win the SEC, then us. Playoff committee is picking best at the time. If we're better at the end, they will pick us.

But then Bama owns the committee

It will be extremely difficult, but not impossible, for LSU to make the playoffs if they win their remaining regular season games + SECCG. If it's between LSU and Bama for an SEC playoff representative, head to head margin of victory by LSU will be a factor.

If the point is to pick the best teams then they would have to take this into consideration.

LSU gets chosen or both teams. No way bama gets in over LSU if that happens. No way. I could see both teams in especially if no unbeatens

I'm sorry, but there is no fricking way a 1 loss Bama makes it in without winning their conference. Not saying they would take a 2 loss SEC champ LSU over bama, but there would more than likely be other schools who won their conference
