People talk about Les being loyal to his coaches to a fault, this says different. I wonder if Chavis leaving was okay with Les also.

"Les knew he needed to change to get a better technical coach. Brick and Les were close, but he knew he had a make a change there and especially with Orgeron on the market."

The way Les was so disgruntled after the game when he was asked about Chavis leaving... I don't think he knew anything.

What? Your statement is about Chavis but your quote is about Brick

I don't think it was Les' idea to let Chavis go. That was an Alleva act of brilliance

Les saw what was happening.

He knew TAF and Alleva didn't want Chavis bad enough to give him a raise or a guaranteed 3 years.

IT was what it was.

Maybe you didn't notice the word "also" at the the end of my sentence. The quote from Mike D was about Les and Brick. My sentence was bringing up the possibility of it "also" possibly being the same with Les and Chavis.

Chavis lost some games this year and some very important games against Bama. If Les beats Bama he stays. If he keeps losing to them he doesn't. Chavis has pretty much flushed the Bama games down the toilet in the last few minutes and I think Les may have realized that it was not going to change.

Perhaps Chavis doesn't lose if the officials had done their job and allowed the booth to review the alleged completion which set BAMA up for the tying field goal. The pass clear hit the ground and should have been reversed.

In OT BAMA ran the tackle eligible out of an illegal formation. The completion to the 1 should have been nullified and the subsequent personal foul should have move them back to the 40 instead of to the 16.

Blame Chavis all you want but his defense virtually shut down the Tide.

2012 may have turned out different if the Honey Badger had not gotten the honey jar stuck on his nose. Jalen Mills mad a mistake and blitzed and they screened over him for winning score. May have had a different outcome - Honey Badger makes instinctive move, reads the screen and picks it and takes it to the house. Earthquake game record eclipsed.

Then he's made that mistake in every end of game defensive play, because that's our strategy in those situations. He blitzes on every, single play and can't make a tackle.

I will never believe we "LET" Chavis go because of a contract. We let Chavis go because we thought we could do better. I could be wrong of course but I don't think so IMO

That's a lot of 'what if's' to base your assessment of Chavis coaching skills off of.

The bottom line is Chavis' defenses screwed the pooch in not 1, not 2 but at least 10 games over the last 5 years by letting the other team score late in the game to win it by a hair. That sucks.

That doesn't remove the fact that our offense also sucked donkey balls last year and couldn't put up enough points to give us some breathing room, but that offense is not to be blamed for some of the prior defensive debacles.

If we can muster one damn first down, we win both kneeling.

9th ranked D....overhaul staff

77th ranked O.....meh.

I support the Brick transition, DL has just looked bad for a while. But letting Chavis go was stupid.

We ended up with Steele and you still think that is the case?

This is a string words uttered by Mike D. With no info at all. Mike D. can talk ad nauseam without revealing any info.

Above sentence could have been uttered on the rant and people would call him a nega-tiger and ask for link. Mike D. plays to the lowest common denominator. He knows that some fans are anxious and loud and he is playing to that demographic.

Detillier is in the bag for Ed O. Some sort of Lafourche Parish mafia love fest.
