The interception thrown by Brandon Harris early in the second half vs Alabama may not have been his fault. There were two receivers within about 10 yards on the sideline. The tight end ran a shorter route and Quinn was deeper. He seemed to be throwing for Quinn but the linebacker trailing the tight end was in position to intercept only because of the tight end route.

Worse time to have the first pick of the year in any event.

Man, he that linebacker was in his line of sight the entire time. It was one of the more WTF throws I've ever seen.

Just viewed it again. The TE initially engaged & blocked the linebacker at the inception of the play. Harris rolled and the TE was open short for a 5 yard gain. Harris threw to Quinn on what looked to be a come back route tot he sideline.

There seems to be no reason for the TE to be in that location. He was likely supposed to block and release to the middle if anything. The TE never looked back until just as Harris released the pass. It does not appear the pass was intended for anyone but Quinn.

Maybe Harris should have seen him, but it is likely he never considered the LB would be in that area of the field.

Quinn was fairly well covered by the corner so maybe Harris should have thrown it away or turned up the field for a few yards.

Maybe Harris should just learn how to throw a short pass without breaking the wide receivers fingers!

He didn't throw that ball to either of his targets. It was behind and over the TE and short of the WR

The TE Foster Moreau could have attempted to catch the closely thrown ball but he pulled his arm down. It's like he went to catch it but decided not to

He should have taken the 4 or 5 yards to the TE. That ball was never going to get to Quinn. Terrible decision that took us out of the game.

How did the LB not have a problem catching it?

The set up of the play seems to indicate it was never intended for Moreau. It was going to Quinn. Quinn was tightly covered and possibly the corner may have made a play on it. Just no reason for Moreau and Quinn to both be on a short sideline 10 yards down field.

I agree! What BH saw was 2 receivers one behind the other. He threw the ball a little high for the up man who reached up for the ball then pulled his hands down.

The ball was too low for the second receiver and was intercepted by the defender.
