My guess is that places like LSU, Alabama and others may actually slightly reduce seating by adding more club seats with wider aisles, bigger seats, more leg room, heated seats between the 20s.

Sure you lose capacity but by charging more you actually increase revenue. If more people for programs like LSU and Alabama are actually going to stay home then you have to do that.

I also would be not surprised if ten years from you may have to pay more via cable fees or subscriptions to watch games at home.

The stadium is plenty loud enough if those there bother to make noise.

this...rediculously expensive idea that would have minimal ROI. if the nega's in the stands would cheer, instead of jeer, the noise level would be daunting and the atmosphere would be electric. the team feeds off of what comes out of the stands....you want a positive team or a negative team? your choice.

he has a point. why spend money on something ugly that brings no money in. all lsu cares about is money, not noise. the only reason the south endzone is expanding is for luxury boxes, the real money maker
lsu has to make $$$ to stay competitive with other major programs....

I love how fans bitch and complain about ticket prices going up and how there is to much advertisement on the score board .....

and the people that bitch the most are the ones who don't even attend the games.....

so just STFU while the real fans continue to foot the bill so you cry babies can have something to complain about....

I would prefer paving the concourses and ramps in bricks of gold. It would bring a real sense of wasted money... we could call it the vatican of college football instead of the cathedral of college football. It would also increase the intrinsic value of the stadium and provide security jobs 24/7/365 to Louisiana's finest to protect our investment.

In all seriousness, the experience is not effected by the level of noise, but by outdated accommodations that effect the comfort and quality of entertainment for non-diehard fans. Mentioned earlier are upgrades to the concourses and concessions such as reliable and clear radio broadcast to bathrooms, concourses with strategic placement of HDTV's showing TV broadcast of the game (not closed circuit), and if possible lounge areas for women/children to get out of the elements with concessions for revenue. But for me #1 is improving the in-game jumbotron/replay embarrassment with lots of ads and little substance.

Louisiana's serfs continue to gobble up overpriced season tickets as if it's their duty to their beloved state institution. There's no need to enhance their gameday experience. Let them eat moldy nachos and drink slime cola. The demand for luxury boxes is increasing. They serve as a marketing tool and tax deduction for corporate entities and a status symbol for Louisiana's ruling class. The SEZ expansion is more about increasing the number of luxury boxes than anything else.

They are doing OK, and could stand to improve the screens with less ads and more substance.

Exactly... Have you seen the stands in good SEC games in the 4th quarter? Maybe improving game day experience would keep fans in the stands and increase concession revenue.

Thanks superfan. Do you yell at children and knock ladies out the way if they aren't being good fans? Just step over the riff-raff on your way to your seats and don't mind anybody else as long as the "real fans" are footing the bill. It's short-sighted people like yourself that don't see the big picture.

You "superfans" should be the ones demanding a better product because it will lure bigger crowds and bigger recruits.

College Football has been ruined and is dieing. Well the stadiums. They have out priced themselves with people that ask you to sit down on 3rd and 8 against Bama when Both teams are in top ten. Or the young couple that shows up takes face book update pics and then leave before kickoff. I've seen it countless times. The experience is dead. The noise is dead anyone that says different either works for LSU or hasn't been a fan long. College football needs to look at NASCAR quick. They out priced their fans lost their roots and now look they are going bankrupt. No tailgating severely overpriced tickets will come back to hurt LSU give it time.

I agree. There needs to be a balance with prices and the product beyond the team on the field. I don't mind the increase in ticket price as long as the amenities at the stadium improve. Keeping up with other successful football teams isn't the issue. While asking luxury prices, you should provide luxury amenities otherwise the big screen TVs and better food will keep the average fan at home or at the tailgate. Catering to the "superfans" like the previous poster who are opposed to improving upon the game day stadium atmosphere, they will limit the experience's value for young fans and those who are trying to grow the passion for LSU football, and ultimately costs will price-out many fans or discourage fans who can sit home and watch a game if the stadium experience isn't "worth it."

Thank you for your support of Tiger athletics/football, but your opinion of not improving the game day atmosphere is confusing. As great as Tiger Stadium already is, don't you want to see your money improve the product more or are you just the guy who tries to impress people with your seats and not your school?

Gotcha, your the fancy seat guy, and as fun and special as you seem, you've got nothing to worry about. I'm perfectly happy sitting where I sit.

I actually think it wouldn't be terrible, keeps the sun off and does increase the noise level. WTF do I know though, I go to every game and make noise. I am also one of the 40,000 idiots who stay till the end of the game. I'm just not as cool as most TS fans these days.

man im just joking with you....I do have season tix but they are in the south end zone....

I agree the gameday experience can be improved but I also know if it weren't for the big money donations it would be hard to compete....
