These guys making the instant replay decisions are once again confounding. We all know about the PP7 interception that was somehow not an int. Watching the replay of the Stanford vs Wash. State game where running back for Stanford fumbled near sideline was another one. How they determined it was not a fumble is beyond me. One day ...... the fans will be allowed to vote and that will be that. Majority rules. Having 1-2 guys or however many there are is not working..... Just sayin'
Anyone else see that replay and have an opinion please chime in.

The NCAA refs are extremely conservative on replay overturns in some games. I would like to refer you to the Notre Dame game fake field goal. That was even worse then the PP7 interception

The NFL refs are the only ones I trust to hold fair games consistently

The ACC had suspended the crew that presided over the Miami-Duke shitshow for two games. Listed quite a number of reasons due to that last play, including that one guy's knee being down. Terrible.

They sucked long before that play too.

I say let the fans decide. Football has become a joke, so let's take it all the way.

I'm not sure about fans voting, that would be like letting the democrats create the programs for the voting booths...

But instant replay has sure screwed up the best game in the history of the world....

I can't believe it has come down to lawyer interpretations of definitions....

We all know what a catch is, except the reply officials now,

So sad, it's hard to watch... I vote to discontinue

You think it's a joke now, try letting the fans decide.

Surely you can't be serious. The vast majority of replay calls are made correctly.

True, a few calls are botched, but the replay system has been a huge success over the years.

I would say anyone actually watching the game can vote. You have 30 seconds to "cast your vote" similar to a lot of other texting contests on TV. Probably would speed up the game IMHO. It cannot possibly be any worse than some of these calls we are seeing right before our very eyes. The Stanford-Wash. State and Miami-Duke games are just the most recent. Unbelievable! However, I do agree the NFL refs and instant replay folks get it right much better than NCAA. Appreciate the comments.

I'm not reading the OP but going off the thread title alone, that's a stupid fricking idea.

Yes, because average joe fan knows the rules as well as the refs.
Also, fans a highly likely to make the correct call when it's against their own team, right.

When they got the call wrong they got the call wrong, now they get it wrong because of stupid definitions, and now a catch isn't even a catch, and the ground can't cause a fumble but it can cause an incomplete even after multiple steps/moves

I'd rather it be just a bad call and a catch is still be a catch.

Oh, and u wouldn't have to worry about the Bama guy in Ritter's ear either telling him what to call.

That would definitely ensure a fair outcome...
