Even though I already knew about LSU the true conversion was the 1979 Tangerine Bowl against Wake Forest (LSU 34 Wake Forest 10). It was cholly macs last game and the team was incredibly fired up. I was 9 years old and it was one of the first games I watched from start to finish. I bled purple and gold from that point on.
My first game in tiger stadium was 1982. I can still remember it as one of the most exciting experiences in my life. Had a LSU flag and I stood and cheered the whole game. The start of having no voice on sundays for several years.

Late 50's when dad started listening to LSU on the radio. Then in 1960, a cousin from Kaplan went to play for the Tigers. I never considered going to any other school. After some delays, I graduated in 1978. Back in the day, we didn't need student tickets. We just lined up and used our student ID for general admission. If you went early, you could get a seat on the 45 yard line. Dems was the good ole days (except no championships after 58 until now).

1986. We lived in Graceville, FL. My dad was going to a bible college there, and he was classmates with a big Bama fan. I don't remember watching the game, but in '86, we beat them 14-10 in Tuscaloosa. We had this little brown Ford Escort, so my dad took masking tape and put the score on the back window. His friend used to take a walk every morning, so dad found him and slowly drove in front of him, reminding him of the score. I was sold.

1960. Right after an LSU vs. Old Piss game. Long story, but it will stick with me till the day I die.

About 82 when I can remember listening to the games with my dad and/or riding up atop the levee just south of campus to see the sights and sounds during a game with radio blasting while I played with a ball or wind-up airplane(goes far from levee) and pops drank beer.
Then, we'd high-tail it out of there before game was over to beat traffic.

I loved listening to WFMF in the 80's on the way to school in the morning. I can't think of the DJ's name but he would do a little skit where he pretended to talk to the players and their responses were lyrics from popular songs. It was corny, but I loved it.
