No, before the SEC expanded to 12 teams, we used to play all our western division opponents six times in the regular season.

This. I can personally attest to getting thumped by Mississippi State 5 times in 1981. I think the 6th game was rained out......thankfully.

MSU has had some moments of glory against LSU over the years, but don't forget that LSU has also had some great moments in the series as well. For example, if you ever get access to a media guide, check out the record-shattering effort that LSU pulled off against the Bulldogs in 1975. No team will ever break those records.

You got that right! 8-0 with 3 shutouts and outscored them 50-10.
