I’m sorry. But why was Les Miles allowed to torment us those last several years??

Thank you O, Jeaux, Joe and everyone who played a part in bringing us out of those frustrating dark times into this incredible new light of hope, excitement, and fun for LSU, it’s players, and fans.

Because we were threatened with the hallman years if we fired him

It all worked perfectly out of pure luck

Alleva should have fired him after 2016 but totally mishandled it that situation causing Les to come back. We probably hire Jimbo there who I think could do well here but not this well

about 75% of this board, at the time, believed that a pass-first spread could NEVER win a natty or beat Bama

if you believed this, you were labeled a "negatiger"

This all could have been sooner had Alleva let the media shame him into keeping him after A&M game.

if Les was fired after 2016 Orgeron would never have been hired. Zero chance. We’d have Jimbo now

wow. that's nuts

we saw how other teams with run first spreads like CUm and the GUS BUS had beaten saban with power spread or some variation then freeze beat him, stoops beat him, dabo beat him all using whole field with tons of spred passing also.

yep, so true.... telling someone on here that you can pass to setup the run was like telling someone that you were a devil worshiper... it was insane... people were terrified of change and i wanted it for years... was tired of running into 8 man boxes...

We won 15 games this YEAR.

Curley Hallman won 16 games in 4 years.

Shut the front door about Miles. GEEZ!!

I get it about Miles but the man put us in 2 nc games in 10 years and that's as many as we played in the prior 50.

There’s 2 different discussions here. I know you and some others that never liked Les and wanted a new offense. Anyone that said spread wouldn’t work in the SEC was not only wrong but not paying attention obviously teams did, I mean did no one see Florida? The offense was shitty but he won.

As far as firing Les, you can’t really fire a coach with his record when some of you wanted to. shite we got heat for it when we did. If he had stumbled in 2010, he would have been gone but 2010 and 11 were great teams, he only lost 3 games, 2 to the NC including the GOAT, who he beat 3 of the first 5 years. The earliest you could make a case to fire him was 2014, given his record the next year should have been put up or shut up and basically was except the admins fricked it up.

I've been labeled that ridiculous negative word on here many times. I wanted Les fired way before he was and I think it's dumb to bring him up now.

Right about what exactly?

Most of the “nega tigers” are the ones that act like miles tenure was a complete failure which is why they get called out.

They were right that it was time to go but not right about his tenure as a whole. Especially because facts and results are not on their side.

Most coaches eventually get fired, that some of you wanted him fired from the 2005 Tennessee game on doesn't mean you were "right" when that eventuality happened

hey were called negatigers and put down constantly by fearmongers who couldn't dare drop a mediocre coach

Define mediocre. He left with best winning percentage in LSU history. The earliest he legitimately could have been fired would have been 2010 if he had another "mediocre" season but he didn't he went 11-2 in what was the toughest division ever to that point. After 2011, he earned a couple more years, it was a great year, even with the shitty ending and offense. 2014 you could justify firing him but giving him an extra year was also reasonable, he should have been axed in 2015.

What is this stupid shite with capitalizing random letters

Anyway, look at some of the coaches all the "geniuses" wanted to hire, if we can remember them.

I'm pretty sure SFP was big on Petrino (I liked him to) but if you look at his record, there's no reason to think he would have been better than Miles in terms of winning more titles. He DEFINITELY would have had a better offense, but he doinked plenty of games he should have won over the years. A lot of other guys the "cool kids" wanted aren't even coaching any more Jack Del Rio
