Great recruiter. Phenomenal.

Great promoter of team and self.

Great at giving the players the ability to showcase.

Great at showing emotion (both positive and upset) during the game.

Great at the promotion of hustle on defense and offensive rebounding.

Lacking of in-game play calling.

Lacking in ability to get quality shots and possessions.

Knowing this, I am good knowing what LSU will be moving forward. To get to that next level, we have to have a tweak in offensive philosophy or an assistant that can work on the program's deficiencies.

Yeah I think this all fair. Wade improved the program dramatically for sure, but things have to change to take that NEXT step. He's still a young coach figuring it out, wanting to get rid of him at this point is ridiculous, but we do want to see that next step eventually

We’ve seen our team play good offense

We’ve seen our team play good defense

We just need to start recruiting more guys who can hit threes and defend

You’re not going to have it all every year, but he puts good teams in the floor and periodically puts together some really good teams. He’s also incredibly young.

Wade is immature and doesn’t command respect.

Thankfully it’s Baseball season.

Wade's in his 17th year of coaching, and his 9th year as a D-1 head coach.

When does the "young coach" excuse get retired? After 10 years? 15? 20? 25?

Is this your first year watching Wade at LSU? All of these things except the offensive rebounding is a this year thing. His teams prior to this season were the exact opposite. One of the better offensive efficiency teams with a lacking defense.

And at a similar point in Dale Brown's career, he was required to hire Tex Winter to coach basketball during the games.

The problem with this is we've been able to do all of this throughout his time here, just haven't had a team that can do it all at the same time.

This years team plays great defense, but lacks offensive firepower and offensive rebounding ability.

The previous 3 years we've been one of the best offensive teams in the nation, and elite at offensive rebounding, but have lacked defense. Those teams have done this without running a bunch of set plays. Basketball has evolved. There's more than one way to score efficiently.

In the past few years we've had some HEAVY iso teams that score at an elite clip and an elite efficiency, we've had teams that utilzie the pick and roll and pick and pop at an elite level, we've had teams that get to the rim at will and lead the league in second chance buckets (by design).

Next years team really has the ability to put it all together and be elite on both ends of the floor.

The guy is 39. I truly beleive we have the next great college basketball coach leading our program. I think alot of people here can see that too. It seems so obvious that Wade is building something special here. He's doing it better and faster than any coach we've had in the past. That's why we get so frustrated and annoyed at idiotic takes (not yours) regarding Wade and the program.

Since you provide no reasons I’ll just assume you know he’s right, and it made you mad.

He's proven to put winning teams out each year, I think he has a system he believes in on both sides of the ball. I agree he needed to tweak some of the offensive ideas for this team this year and some of the defensive problems the past two seasons.

But more so than ever he has to focus on getting players that fits what he wants to do. If he wants the team to shoot threes he needs to get some guys that can knock them down. We are getting good looks but when Pinson and Gaines are the ones shooting them (Not trying to bash) then the shot isn't so good.

This breakdown sounds a lot like Roy Williams when you think about it. We are in good hands with Wade. Just have to hope another team doesn't come calling from the ACC.

I agree with this. The thing I'd like to see is, making the prolific scorer play defense. Cam Thomas could get around just about anybody on offense and yet almost anybody could get around him on the defensive side. That's just a total lack of effort and unwillingness to play defense. That's why I would rather see WW recruit scorers and pure shooters and then demand good defense from them also. Trying to make a great defensive player a great shooter/scorer when they suck at it is a lot harder to do. I actually think he will try to do this from now on after this year.

He’s been coaching for 17 years now.

How long does it take for a coach to figure it out?

I am a complete supporter of Will, but when your team is getting penetration then missing 80+% of their layups, I'm not sure wtf he is supposed to do to correct that. This is just a weird fricking team. Maybe the best defensively I have ever seen at LSU and I am old. The other end of the floor is the enigma. How the hell do we successfully get inside so many times and come away with nothing?

Pretty fair assessment. Now we have some guys with a defensive culture after having zero of that previously. Bring in some shooters next year, balance out a little bit, and see what happens from there.

College basketball is a little different. Yes he's still a young coach. Look at how long roy Williams, Jay Wright, Tony Bennett, etc coached before they won a title. He may never figure it out, but who knows

Never see a whiteboard to diagram plays during timeouts. Coaches like Calipari draw like crazy.
