Well we've yet to kick the ball off for the opening kick. So we don't know that they really don't play it any more. They haven't had a chance

We used to play it every kickoff, kicking or receiving.
While some may not like it, all the students do, and the players. Even if they do away with it, play a better song than what they have been.
