Tory Carter is going to surprise some people. This team has so many weapons, they just weren't used. I forgot half these guys were on the team like Pettigrew for example. He will be a huge RZ or GL threat. This offense doesn't have to be so complex. Just simply move the pieces for the defense to take thier eyes off of the threat and it opens up your offense. Pretty simple. ST will be more aggressive, defense as well. Just simply being more aggressive on ST and Defense will create huge opportunities for our new offense.

We could see lots of short fields this year simply by trying in all phases. We may not be successful in all these areas BUT (1) play makes the difference in a game. Being aggressive in all areas also puts immense pressure on these teams, this is how mistakes happen. Especially against the lesser teams. This is why the lesser teams could always stay with LSU for a half sometimes more. I don't think that happens this year unless we make lots and lots of mistakes. This will not be the old LSU.

I'm ready to see the product. I always knew LSU could be so much more. It was obvious when you watched other teams with great coaches that LSU was missing ample opportunity to take advantage of our opponents weekly. We might not win every game BUT I don't think there will be a game where I can say we could have done this or that, we didn't play hard in this or that area. We should have ran a 2 minute offense BF half or at the end of the game. We probably should have passed more. Why were we passing when the run was working just fine. How did we not get into the endzone. Why weren't we more aggressive on ST. We shouldn't have waisted all that time. All these little things make a huge difference in a game and sorry but Les Miles sucked at most of them if not all of them. I'm ready to see LSU play some real deal football in all phases of the game in an aggressive dominating fashion. GT

Is it appropriate for someone to provide some info from the show for those of us who can't listen?

When it's 10-10 or something similar at the half, these posts will disappear like ice in boiling water

I'm excited about this season because of CHANGE. Not so much the types of change but the DEGREE of change.

- Going from the Les/Cameron dinosaur offense to Canada's modern movement and deception offense. That's not only a change in type, but one of great degree. Compare the 2015 LSU-Bama gane with the 2016 Pitt-Clemson game. That's an amount of change that is difficult to get into perspective.

- Etling's back. If his back is healed as we have been told, this has to improve Etling's throwing mechanics, making him a far more effective Qb. Again, the change in degree.

- Aranda's second year, now with quality reserves at DL and LB. The degree of change here will be seen in the fourth quarter of close games.

- The degree of confidence the WR's and TE's are having with the new offense. Every elegible player on offense will get carries, plus look for the OT to get touches as well. You know it's coming...

Change = Opportunity. This ain't your Father's football program no more. I can't wait.

Dandy Don Show Recap

quote:

I hope you enjoyed my rough recap as much I enjoyed listening to the show. Coach O’s straightforward answers, void of much of the “coach speak” you typically hear from head coaches, was much appreciated by this Tiger Fan. But man does he talk fast!

Later, Coach O dished out even higher praise for Brennan, saying he made some throws on Saturday that he hadn't seen in a long time from an LSU quarterback.
