It's another great class actually..

We just missed on the big guys on the defensive line...so yes that is disappointing but they were out of state guys...so it happens

We are young on the line now, with some star studded players....so we are fine...

Ego may surprise, but it's not expected..

We are loading up next year guys...plenty of excitement...

And alot of the #1 class guys from last year RS, so we will see more playing time from them...all is well...

And for the first time 4 years, we will have a Jr at QB...been a long road back to normalcy

Expect the #1 class in the country next year, this time next year! Our state talent is that good

I lost interest in recruiting about 8-9 years ago...can't really pinpoint why.

And it has been the best thing that ever happened to me. Man, I'm free.

Can't pinpoint really why it happened so suddenly and completely...I used to be as bad with it as anyone here.

Still realize the importance, but the minute-to-minute agony and ecstasy swings are long gone.

It's not the class that I'm disappointed in, it's the fact that I've lost a lot of faith in the coaching staff on many levels.

I'm hearing that from alot of former Hat loyalists. I gotta admit that even in the best of times I was never sold on CLM.

Like him, really wish him well cause he's my coach and when he does well LSU does well and that's really what matters to me.

But it's always seemed to me, as a favorite saying of my boss goes "He don't know that he don't know."

Jacob Hester

From now on for the next 50 years, whenever we sign a weak class or some kid from Bama that them and Auburn both don't want, someone will bring up Jacob Hester. A great, hardly recruited, LSU player that none of these 2 stars will ever turn into.

LSU is just taking a breather.

There is nothing wrong with being in the top 10 of recruiting.

In all honesty, recruiting is overrated if the coaches cannot develop players.

I'm so tired of hearing about star this and star that! It's a crock of shite, your talking about eighteen year old kids who played against a bunch of nobodies in highschool. You have no clue what they are going to do on college level. Every "kid" because half of them havent even payed a bill yet is going to react differently. However everyone jumps up and expects that just because some dipshit put five stars next to his name that hes going to be the next big star and make millions of dollars. If anything your just hurting them because that goes straight to there head. How do I know? I graduated highschool with Eddie Lacy one of the big shots from Dutchtown and his head is so big im amazed they fit it on a plane. You have no clue what these kids will do especially in the hard hitting SEC, and most of all at LSU. Look at the fan base..these kids are reading this too, they haven't even put an LSU helmet on yet and there already feeling the overwhelming pressure of the program. Not that I'm not one to expect maturity, discipline, and a natural nack for the game. But seriously lay off the stars. That is the most pointless system, I'm willing to bet that the coaches aren't gunning for stars as much as they are a player that can fit there program. The stars are for all the "fans" to be able to ohh and ahh about too there buddies.

LSU's biggest problem is the fan base.

Come on...we have a great fans base. For a state with our population base, we support LSU probably as well as any school in the nation.

We have some weak bladder types who roam the net, but don't let those hot air, doom and gloom , my glass is 1/2 full guys fool you. LSU is in the Top 10 in fan bases who support their football programs year in and year out.

LSU is lucky to have us and we are damn lucky to have LSU!!!

PLEASE tell me you didn't write all of this. If you did, I'm very sorry, 'cos you're clearly off the reservation. In addition to being today's poster child for irony, if you really like Miles that much and remain a true LSU fan as you say (and I believe you are), doesn't that make YOU a "Miles loyalist?" Seriously, it's OK, even if the negative Ranters sect will hammer you (and anyone else who slightly disagrees with them).

Even your sig. line is a great fit for this thread and hundreds of others like it. Rich stuff.

However, given that you did work as a Summer intern for Socrates, it's difficult to argue with you anyway.

Good post (your second one), fisherbm.

The recruiting "services" compose a cottage industry that exists and thrives because it meets the needs of a beast that has to be fed. And almost all of us, as fans, want to know what's going on with our teams' recruiting and who's gonna play and represent for us, even if it's only for a couple of years.

But like everything else in college athletics, it's all about the Benjamins. Give every member of TD.com the time and modest stipends, and we could easily do a better and more credible job than Rivals, ESPN, Scout, etc.

and you are short on vision...this is a very solid class that when combined with last years and the monster class we are building for '11 will have a lot to say about who brings home crystal in the near future.

No possible way will any player on the LSU roster in the next five years have any impact on who brings home a BCS national championship crystal. We won't win it ourselves for damned sure, and we won't beat anybody else that was in line for it to knock them out of it. For purposes of affecting the outcome of the BCS, let alone winning it, a person might as well go to Tulane as to LSU as long as Les Miles is here.
