1) AC ain't leaving Starkville for Tuscaloosa. Alabama isn't going to offer more money that MSU can match, and even if they did, it would be enough more to make AC leave for a worse job.
2) It'd be even easier for us to hire AC away from Alabama than MSU.

I think your assumption is flawed. If anything, LSU fans would want a former assistant coach to get his baptism of fire as an head coach elsewhere before taking over the LSU program.
There has never been animosity towards former assistants who took the next step.
