If he didn't go pro do you think you weekend rotation would be all freshmen? Do you think one of the 3 would have been moved to a relief role?

I know that Lee was a 1st round pick and someone like that doesn't sit the bench on the weekend. But, mainly do you think they would have gotten the spot on the weekend?

I think about this all the time

Anyway, there's a good chance our weekend rotation will be all freshman soon anyway. I wouldn't be surprised if we see Eades moved to Sundays and Alsup into a weekday starter/long-relief hybrid closer type roll (Bradford/Coleman).

Eades at Sunday would be a good idea. I'm starting to worry we can't depend on Jones as a midweek starter if he keeps it up and Alsup seems like a good spot for there.

Of course--we'd be a much better staff. But what if we had 1 of the 2 pitchers that didn't sign two years ago?

On the bright side, we might have not signed Mett for football had Lee stayed.

The Alsup part, I think is coming.

However, I get the feeling CPM may soon be having auditions among the staff for the closer role. Eades right now, would seem to be a good candidate to fill that spot.

I may be I meay be wrong, but Lee can still return to football if the MLB didn't work out.

In your opinion why move Alsup? He has done pretty well. Had wasn't great in the game against Princeton but only has had one rough outing against the best team in the nation. He is still riding an ERA of just 3.42.

And why Eades and not Dykstra? What makes you think Eades (who has only thrown 9 innings all season and has an ERA of 4.82) could come in and do a better job?

Dykstra would be my choice to fill the Sunday role, w/ Eades as closer.

But I'm just another jerk speculating on a message board. CPM is the one getting the big bucks to make that call. Or not to.

eades is still coming off of injury. i think they are working him back slowly. i doubt he sees a starting role for some time.

I think he would be starting. Mainieri has indicated that if Lee has not signed we would probably have an all freshman starting rotation.

Agreed that's why they've been taking it slow with him. I expect to see him get a look next time we are in a save situation.

This is the single reason it may not happen. They are taking it VERY slow with him, otherwise I think it would work.

Any reason why peterson hasn't seen more action? The few times he has pitched he looked good and watching him warm up friday night he looked like he is a hard thrower.

Dude you're a douche. Half the topics on the boards are about IFs.

This is for sure not your team to coach and if you were to read the rest of the replies you can clearly see we moved forward and were talking about the current pitching situation.

Do you feel satisfied that you typed what you did? Why not actually contribute something to the conversation instead of being an arse.

The dude actually enrolled at LSU. He was very much going to come to LSU. He got the same signing bonus as the #3 over all pick in the draft that is why he didn't come.
