If you are looking forward at all, then you should like what you see.

Ok losing to fricking Troy and getting destroyed by MSU is not what most people thought would happen to this team or where we stand right now. And we will definitely have some head-scratching moments going forward with some more losses kicked in for good measure. What record LSU has at the end of the year probably won't be what we are used to seeing.

That being said if you are looking ahead at all next year and the year after are set up where we should be competing for titles. LSU loses players to the NFL every year and this year will be no exception but with all the youth that LSU has been forced to play we are going to be very experienced the next 2 years for sure. I don't feel things are as bad as the Rant makes it appear. Between switching offensive strategies and personnel along with the depth issues and injuries issues in the trenches, and a new head coach we have had a perfect storm.

One big problem I see is that LSU will have a new starter behind center who will basically have minimal game experience.

That's why I don't understand why Brennan isn't getting more snaps. He can't do worse than Etling, so give the kid more game experience.

Wish we’d continue getting Brennan reps

Not an overstatement to say that next year the offensive skill positions will be as big a question mark as it's been in 25 years to go along with a likely unproven QB.

Gainesville with this offensive line was not the place to get Brennan some snaps.

right because there is so much evidence that O can get a program into the playoffs.

in 6 games as a head coach he had...

worst loss a ranked lsu team had at the hands of an unranked opponent
worst loss in lsu msu history
first loss to a mid major since 2000.
1st home ooc loss in 49 games.

yes it is as bad as it seems.

think of the crazy shite thats happened since being named Head Coach.
lsu's program cant survive 3 years of the way its been going.

I don't know man. A lot of pessimism on this board. Are Oklahoma fans calling for Lincoln Riley to be fired after their worst loss ever...to Iowa State... With a Heisman candidate QB?

What about Dabo Swinney? Clemson lost to a bad Maryland team — who went 2-10 that year, Swinney’s first year as coach after being promoted from interim. Where would they be now if they would have fired him year one?

What about Mike Gundy? Oklahoma State lost a bunch in his first year, including to a 5-6 Baylor team. They lost seven Big 12 games that year that ended a bowl streak under none other than Les Miles.

Gary Patterson's first year? TCU lost to Northwestern State, a I-AA team at home.

Frank Beamer's first year? Virginia Tech lost nine games, including a loss to a Tulane team that had five straight losing seasons. The Hokies finished 2-9. They also got busted with sanctions that year just to pile it on

Bob Stoops went 7-5 his first year.

Troy sucked and so did MSU but the tigers came out ready to play and beat Florida @ the swamp, a ranked team regardless of how bad they are and that's a step in the right direction. The world of LSU isn't coming to an end. I'm not saying O is anywhere near the same caliber as these coaches but sometimes coaches just have bad first years.

Next year the running back rotation will be crap.

All you Next-Year-U folks might better make it Year-After-Next U.

He also just blew your "he can't win on the road in the SEC" statements out the water this week and it wasn't just on the road in the SEC, it was a ranked SEC team on the road.

You've been proven wrong before, and I think you will once again. Etling is a bad QB, our WRs are lazy, our entire team hasn't played inspired football, is it our coaches? Is it just the players? Will it change once we get the players they want and then they buy in? I think it will completely change and I also think O did a fantastic job with managing the clock Saturday, as well as getting the team to play all 4 quarters. No FL doesn't have the best QB or team but neither does LSU there Rick. They were about even as a team as for as roster, and we beat them in their house. That's a pretty big deal.

he also went into ohio state and won.
lincoln riley doesnt have history of destroying a program

i have no idea why people like you bring Dabo up. if O loses 4 games, then loses 7 games, and then loses 5 games( lile dabo's 1st 3 years) he is out on his arse.

A 5-star running back is a must get for O in 2018, or you are correct, failure to recruit one will spell doom for O!

He won against a bad team because they missed an extra point. Don't get me wrong, I'll take a win in the swamp any day, and I give him credit for that. However to say that we're set up for good things with O as coach is asinine.
