“”Only in Baton Rouge would people say fire a coach for potentially offering additional benefits to players. This happens at every major school in the country. Football and basketball. Anyone here that thinks otherwise is a fool. If you don't do it you can't compete.””

^^ This ^^

Every player that is in the top 200 is likely functioning like a professional coming out of high school. Their AAU coach, their preacher, their high school coach etc acts as a middle man. Every single program that is competitive is dirty. Every single competitive coach. The amazing thing is how silent it all is.

cant have dirty coaches at LSU.

OP is getting downvoted, but he's the adult in the room.

This is very, very bad for Will Wade and LSU. And the suspension is not surprising at all.

Just because a coach wears purple and gold doesn't mean we must support him at all costs. Wade's on tape talking about (not using the exact word) paying players and their families.

Regardless of whether you love or hate the NCAA and regardless of whether other teams are doing it, we can't allow him to continue to coach here, given the content of those tapes. That's crystal clear to all but the blindest of homers.

what you seem to miss is not that everyone has their hand in the cookie jar...but WW got caught with it in there.

please try and keep up.

What you seem to miss is ALL the other schools named in the initial investigation. Big name basketball schools. So your statement isn’t accurate. EVERYONE else has their hand in the cookie jar. WW just got caught with his in it.

You believe he should have waltzed into that pit of vipers waiting to protect their own asses? I don't think you know how the world works brah man.
If you're innocent, you walk right in there and clear your name.

If not, you lawyer up and decline to talk.

It may be a smart move legally, but it doesn't do a thing to clear his name (which will be virtually impossible given the tapes).

does that make it ok?

That's the argument my children make when they get caught doing something wrong that their friends are also doing.

YOU of all people should hush your mouth and let the facts come out before passing judgement.

You sound like a typical rabid libtard carrying their tiki torches and cotton picking pitch forks passing judgement without knowing the facts first. Then again liberals don’t like facts.

And save your rebuttal because I know you’re not a libtard but you did shite the bed on this one.

Just so you know.. Wade is FAR from the only one to do this. Judging by the context of your OP, I don't think you understand how far and wide this is. Allow me to put it another way.

This happens so often, it's considered normal by agents, runners, and the athletes involved. There are allegedly around 50 teams involved in this one investigation (not all is public yet)

So if you're calling for Wade's job, you need to call for virtually every major D-I basketball coach in the country.
