Oh yeah? Explain.

Because 1906 yards, 9 TDs and 4 INTs isn't decent, nor is it halfway decent.

You wanna know why we lost to Bama? Lack of a decent QB.

One aspect of the "spread " I would like to see would be a little more up tempo . A little less confusion at the line of scrimmage .

I agree, there are many different versions of the spread... Last time i checked Baylors QB doesnt run it much.. What I like the most about Brennan is he looks very accurate to me.. kid can put it where he wants... vital in the college game..

Baylor's QB does run the ball. The QB has been an essential running piece for Art Briles, and it just depends on how good of an athlete they are.

2008 - RG3 12 games 173 carries 843 yards 13 TDs, Sanders 34 carries 128 yards 1 TD
2009 - RG3, Florence, Szymanski (Baylor had to start a couple different QBs because RG3 got injured) 115 carries 171 yards 5 TDs
2010 - RG3 13 games 149 carries 635 yards 8 TDs
2011 - RG3 13 games 179 carries 699 yards 10 TDs
2012 - Nick Florence 12 games 139 carries 568 yards 10 TDs
2013 - Bryce Petty 13 games 94 carries 209 yards 14 TDs, Russell 24 carries 147 yards 3 TDs
2014 - Bryce Petty 12 games 84 carries 101 yards 6 TDs, Russell 32 carries 185 yards 3 TDs
2015 - Seth Russell 7 games 49 carries 402 yards 6 TDs, Stidham and Johnson 70 carries 186 yards 3 TD
2016 - Seth Russell 9 games 94 carries 506 yards 8 TDs

IMO Scott takes over next year if we get a spread OC. He has everything you want minus the height in a modern college QB. Brennan or Narcisse back him up for 2-3 years AFTER next year.

You can still run spread without a dual threat

THIS, however, today you have to have a QB that ain't afraid to run and be good at it.

That's literally every level of football for the whole history of the sport. You've always needed a qb who can get 3-4 yards when a play breaka down. And etling and myles Brennan both are capable of that.

You don't have to have designed qb runs to be successful and it's ridiculous to think you do

What "spread" means is different to different people. Does it mean formations? Does it mean blocking concepts? Just saying spread doesn't mean anything and doesn't pigeon hole O. Spread to him could mean getting more guys more touches and "spreading" the ball to playmakers and still base out of 21 personnel.

No one knows

Orgeron shouldn't have said that. You build an offense around the skill set of your team. Brennan would be a great pro style QB. You can still run spread without a dual threat
Yes, huge mistake right out of the gate by CEO.

That was poor judgement and makes many of us who follow the program closely very nervous.

You don't come out and make comments in public like that and alienate your "Advanced Passing QB" recruit.

Can't afford to lose him a la Patterson a la Franks.........

Defenses make substitutions according to personnel not formations if that were the case they'd never have time to make any subs.

You do realize he only started 9 games right? In a normal 13 game season his numbers translate to 2500 yards passing. That's 7th alltime in a single season at LSU.
