If we win out in this fashion, where does this team rank in the BCS era?

I say at least as good as USC in 04. Maybe as good as Miami 01'.

Certainly the best LSU team in school history.

If this continues. Best team in bcs era easily. Nobody has dominated the way we have for 8 games and if it continues. Man o man could be special

Last night my jaw dropped. Les has these boys fired up. He seems like a different person, they seem like a different team.

Lord how I'd love to link all of the posts about LSU's decline under Miles.

You kidding? If we win out the way we've been doing we'll be considered the best college team in a loooong time. Problem is, Alabama isn't going to let us just win by 25-30.

I still think that the game will never be in doubt. I honestly see a 34-20 type game. For Alabama/Saban, I'd consider that quite an asswhipping.

Hold your horses there, still a long way to go before we can compare any team to Miami and Nebraska.

Hence, the "if we win out in this fashion" (averaging about 40 ppg with 15-30 point victories over ranked teams).

ETA: At least you hate Herbstreit

Before we put any team on the level of 2001 Miami we'd first have to wait for all the players on that team to go to the NFL. One of the reasons the 2001 Miami is so respected is because a majority of the players (starters and non starters) have had successful NFL careers.

I actually thought about that and considered clarifying it in my post. I don't mean "player for player abilities". I don't think anyone will top that team anytime soon. I just meant dominance and execution on the field.

The 90s Nebraska is just as much respected and what was the NFL talent they had.

That is what is killing many of these opposing fanbases like Arkansas. This doesn't fit the "Miles is an Idiot" script they have convinced themselves is true. They think Petrino is the second coming of Lombardi when he is a Big 12 coach, not an SEC caliber coach. It is fun watching them crawfish and make excuses while Miles just keeps kicking arse and taking names. I'm loving every minute of it.

Arky's hoping for an upset this year (like every year). It ain't happening. These are simply not the cardiac cats. We're rolling.

I disagree. What these guys do on the collegiate level regarding domination has nothing to do with how their pro careers play out. That is like comparing apples to oranges. Simply compare the stats to the 2001 Miami team and nothing else. Anything else is just window dressing when you get down to it.

My take as well. I wasn't talking about individual talent player by player. That Miami team may never be topped. I'm talking about how the team is playing as a unit.

We are truly sick this year.

There's no way were gonna just run up in BAMA and whip them by 2 TDs. I think it will be decided by one score.

THE Ohio State university was the best team to ever take the field after they beat Michigan in 2006. Let's win six more before we talk about 'best ever.'
