What has he done wrong here? Trent Johnson was a good hire at the time. Name me something Alleva has done wrong.

The fact that he was AD at Duke should be a negative in this case. He didn't have to do anything with the basketball program there. Never hired a coach for them, never had to interfere, it ran like a top.

Alleva did not make any big hires at Duke. He did not show up there until 1998. His biggest hire was David Cutcliff in football. That should tell everyone something.

LSU will never hire a big time known basketball coach. Who would want to coach at LSU in basketball?......LSU is just a middle tier level SEC basketball school.......until a young coach comes in and changes this like the coach at Fla did, LSU will never be a basketball school........

I somewhat agree. After seeing MSU have to hire the guy they did, everyone should have tempered their expecatations on potential coaches wanting to come to mid-tier SEC programs.

Hired Trent Johnson. Didn't fire him after the worst 3-year period in the program's history. Limited the search for his replacement to people with "Louisiana connections".
