If we are #1 and Bama is #4.....

We are headed for a rematch in the playoffs.
Not advocating this. However, we could avoid the gumps.....
We rest Burrow, CEH and the starting WRs for the TAMU game and get all conservative on offense. Les Miles style....the full phone booth offense as Booger likes to call it.
We lose a close one to TAMU, and then blow the doors out of Georgia and win the west and the SEC.
Now they cannot rank a 1 loss SEC champion over a undefeated (darling) OSU. So OSU is #1, Oklahoma is #2, LSU #3 and Alabama is #4. So OSU has to play Alabama and we do a tiger bowl with Clemson.
The risk however, is if we lose to Georgia, then we are out and we cannot throw any game.
After what they did to us in the 2012 championship game, sorry, I have PTSD when it comes to Bama.

And yeah you know darn well we would basically have to beat them a second time while they rested and got healthy Playing one less game.

No way anyone in this team would agree with loosing a game - to anyone. Let it play out and if they are No 4 then so be it. Looking forward to the rest of our games.

If they let a 1 loss Bama in over a 1 loss conference champion, the conference championship game needs to be eliminated.
It’s unfair to a team to have to play an extra game and risk injuries FOR WINNING THEIR DIVISION, while another team gets to rest and prepare for LOSING THEIR DIVISION.

The first poll is likely to have Bama at #4. And everyone will overreact, but look at who the likely competition to that spot has played as well: No one. It's what it is at this point. When they all haven't played anyone worth a shite, you go by best loss, which they have.

Why would Minnesota be ranked below Bama in any poll? Doesn’t make any sense to me.

One thing I was thinking is if LSU stays undefeated at #1 the committee should not let Alabama in at 4. That would be incredibly wrong considering they already beat them at their place. It’s not like UGA where they met at a neutral field or whatever.
It’s a lot of factors but mostly the schedule. Combined with LSU earned the right to have knocked them out given there could be a different conference champ as opponent.
The #1 team should be rewarded for knocking out a team in the regular season, IMO.
