I'd be interested to hear what folks have to say about Miles job security if we didn't owe him a shite ton of money? (Particularly in light of the fact that some people have suggested the money is the reason he hasn't already been fired.)

Hypothetically....if he craps the bed at College Station and gets blown out, would this be the end for him if the buyout isn't there?

Or has his past success bought him more time than that?

Flame away!!

Buyout isn't an issue for all the baller LSU fans.

No buyout, no coach is safe with this crowd.

You think that Miles is only secure because of the buyout

i think more people would want him out, but you see coaches want security with their job because of crazy expectations by miserable fan bases. Les probably would have left on his own. and we would be exactly what we dont want to be, a stepping stone job where no coach spends more than 5 years here.

we went through 8 coaches in 24 years for an average of a new coach every 3 years. Les has lasted 10.

We are all upset, but Les is a good coach. He has his flaws, just like every other coach. The hand we are playing with this season is flawed. Inexperienced QB and young skill positions. When Les has an experienced QB and a stout defense, his teams are championship caliber. We can't take back the mulligan BCS game, but that should show what he can do when the stars align properly. Saying that, it's beyond time to play Harris.

Reading comprehension is our friend.....I was asking what others thought. I've never hid my dislike for Miles. Any other thoughts or questions?

He has job security right now because you don't fire arguably your most successful coach ever because of three seasons that are arbitrarily deemed "disappointing" or "sub-par" following a 12-0 regular season and SEC title and a national runner-up. Not a great precedent to set. We won't exactly have a laundry list of top coaches lining up to come here if that's the precedent we set.

If the buyout was not in place, I don't think losing to the Aggies this year would really matter. However, if the buyout was not in place, I do believe that he would be on thehot seat. JMO. Not like it was years ago when a coach was given at least 4 years to get his system into place. Look at lowly football school Kansas, fired the coach after 1 year and a few games this year.

You don't have to know anything at all about football to see whats going on with our program at the present.
One sound byte from Miles and fricking Helen Keller would know what time it is genius.

Personally I believe that he would do whatever it takes to win if his job was on the hot seat. He has no fear right now. They should suspend him for 2 weeks for conduct detrimental to the team so he can understand that it's not about him it's about the program
