IF Ben chose not to play and JJ still wanted to... Ben would have had some kind of minor "injury" preventing him from playing and requiring some rehab.

Nah. You can't win that. Simmons gave us what we asked him to give us. You thank him and wish him the best.

This would serve any purpose, and his heart has been long gone. Don't be bitter toward him. He got screwed; he deserved to be able to play in the NBA this year. Why should he risk millions of dollars to play in a useless exhibition tourney?

He got screwed? Wow. I'm at a loss for words, but I will say that your position is exactly what is wrong with college athletics today.
He should be damn thankful for the opportunity to be a student athlete at a place like lsu.

Remember that im saying "IF". I have no inside information, and understand that this is only conjecture.

I have a feeling your close to the truth , I don't think he (BS) wanted to play ... If I was JJ , I would have said "ok, in fact Ben you can stay home, while the team goes to play in the NIT" you quit 15 games ago ..

Simmons should be suspended for the rest of the season.

Yeah not letting him play in the imagination tournament would show him and all his skills.

We will never know but I will always believe this is the reason JJ didn't accept!

If this is true, it makes JJ look even worse. Who cares if Simmons would play or not, honeslty.

The real value of the NIT would have been extra practice and game experience for the guys coming back next year.

What sorry excuse for a coach turns down the chance for more practice time. The fact that JJ still has a job this morning is a blight on LSU athletics.

You think Simmons thinks fondly of LSU or will ever be back here?
