If rankings were based on the team not the record:

LSU #5-7

LSU whipped Florida but unfortunately lost because of mistakes and poor execution

Last play loss vs auburn and int vs wisky

This team is very good and it's a damn shame they didn't get a shot in the playoffs.

We are too inconsistent on offense to be ranked that high. Some games this year gave me so much hope that the offense was about to start clicking and we were going to make a good run. Then games like Bama and Florida happened and I realized that against good defenses (especially good run game defenses) we just can't get it done. Etling is not a great QB, but he isn't a terrible one either. We have some really good receivers but there were times where they struggled this year. Our O line needs to get stronger and we need to get a legit tackle and center. Pocic did ok at center but because of his hight, he could get pushed back often.

I really think many of our offensive problems this year were just hangovers from the Les Miles era. I think we will see big improvements next year and I see no reason why we can't have a 10 to 11 win season next year.

OP is drunk still.

With that said, the improvement in the offense is still drastic since Miles left. You can see people stepping up and making plays, we are seeing a better variety of formations, and we aren't just ab3 & out machine. The improvement into next year will be ridiculous, especially since Canada isn't a "square peg/round hole" guy.

Guice is HUGE for the development of the new offensive system as well. Having a great runner will give all kinds of room to pass in an improved scheme.

The way this team has functioned over the last four games places them clearly in the top 8 and maybe in the top 4.

Anyone think Washington scores more than 10 points against LSU?

Does Ohio State have a better offensive output against LSU than against Clemson?

Trying to remember where I saw it, but their was a 'power poll' - might have been a Vegas one - that had LSU in the top 7. Based on W-L, SOS, pt margin, etc. Based on how they are playing RIGHT NOW, I would put LSU right around 8-10 in the final rankings.
BLUF - bottom line up front - NO ONE would want to play LSU right now.

I'd say 10......not deserving of playoff berth. JMO
