If OM didn't have sanctions coming, would they be considering CLM?

I would think they would going after an up and coming coach. But, with them being backed into a corner, I think they would consider themselves fortunate to get a coach the caliber of Miles.

Without sanctions, why not hire Klingsbury? His stock may have dipped but I think he could recruit to OM.

Never mind all that.

Consider the timing here. The season starts in less than 6 weeks. Right now, Miles is what's available.

No way. Houston wasn't even willing to hire Miles.

Regurgitating Paul Finebaum does not make you sound smarter.

If O wasn't the interm head coach would he ever have gotten an interview?

Considering he hadn't had an interview for a HC position since OM canned him, I think we all know the answer to that question.

It's so hard to remember that Houston didn't want him. Especially since I live in Houston. Thank god I have Paul to come up with ideas for me. I don't know how I'd function in life.

So, you think they're going to hire a coach right after they just announced their coach?

Rantards out in full force tonight.

Les is the poster child for integrity and a clean program. Ole Miss needs him badly if they hope to survive this with any dignity intact. It's not about offensive philosophy, it's about avoiding being labeled as an offensive, dirty program for years to come.

I agree, if those NCAA sanctions were not coming, Miles would have no chance of being hired by Ole Miss.

O was actually considered for the USC head coaching job.

to answer the OP, if OM wasn't facing sanctions, they would not consider Les because they would still have their plastic Jesus coaching.

If Ole Miss didn't have sanctions coming Hugh Freeze would still be the coach and nothing that leaked last week would have. It's all been a domino effect since the first NOA came out and the pinned everything on Nutt. Sanctions were coming circa 2015. It's all interconnected. Freeze was not fired for calling an escort service once. He wasn't fired for being unfaithful. He was fired because what they uncovered as a result was alarming

No.

If Miles (or any other coach) goes to Ole Miss under these circumstances they are just setting themselves uo for failure.

First, the players will look at Mikes as taking the job from Luke (one of their own).

Second, the players are playing for absolutely nothing this year. Hell, Miles was losing the LSU team last year when it had everything to play for.

Third, can you imagine the reaction of Shea Patterson to having to play in Miles' system? Lol.

All in all it would be a bad move for Ole Miss in every way to hire Miles.

Bingo. Not buying the one-phone-call-escort-service thing.

Ole Miss is not considering Miles because the game has passed him by.
