Why? If he has a losing record people will understand you can't come in and not coach and keep your job.

We have had an extreme amount of attrition in the offseason, for whatever reason. We have injuries in important positions. We still have suspended players. One backup player, got hurt during the game, which puts a third string player at defensive tackle.we have two starters get ejected for targeting. We have many freshman playing for our beloved tigers, be patient, we are very young and have no depth due to everything listed above. Last, I wish we would have played better.

I smell a whole a lot of bullshite excuses. Here is a newsflash we are always young. Why are we losing players? Idk maybe it's the idiot head coach. LSU is even starting to lose recruits. It has been years since I have seen team depth issues at LSU...Years. The early 90's are back just hope TAF will call for the change before it gets too bad.

If his only selling point was continuity...

And he didn't deliver that.

O isn't a program builder.

We might have to struggle through 2 years, but his contract won't be renewed.

ould be extremely difficult to find anybody to come here. We got plenty of flack for firing Miles and the way that was handled. Then fire O after 1 year ? Besides the fact of all the buyouts of both. In other words, he's not going anywhere for awhile-barring a scandal.

It depends.

Are you firing him after 8-5 or after 5 wins and no bowl?

Hypothetical:
What if LSU beats Troy and Syracuse, but then loses the rest of the way and ends 4-8.

After that hot garbage last night, you can make a case (with exception of A and M and Ole Miss) that we lose out in the SEC.

Because its irrational. Mullen wouldnt go to a program who fires a coach in the first year. No coach is going to go to any program like that. Get real.

Even if that coach sucks and is clearly in over his head?

Coaches know who is and isn't worth their money. If Ed gets fired it will be because he fricking blew it and we tanked this season.

People will still want the job.

Maybe coaches would understand LSU is serious about winning. Most coaches don't think like you.

He's not getting fired. What is wrong with y'all? Even if we're 4-8 he's not getting fired after one rear.

You are such a freaking moron. Miss St before Mullen was a complete shite fest. They are actually competitive now. They can actually get some highly rated recruits. Every new QB since Chris Relf has broken records by either rushing, passing, total O, or a variation of all three. He already recruits the nooks and crannies of these states for untapped playmakers like Josh Robinson and Dakota Prescott from Louisiana. He runs a freaking modern offense, and 2 of his former QBs are successful NFL QBs.

I seriously can't believe I have to explain shite like this. The fact that he can do what he does at what was the bottom feeder of the West for years, he could kill it at LSU with this talent. He runs an offense that is catered to the Louisiana high schools as well.

There should never have even been any buyout. That's the stupidity of all this

Uh yeah. Many coaches would because they have a buyout and most understand that Ed O should not have this job.

Coach O has 3 years to get this program going and IMO Brennan will buy him time to 5 years.

Mullen wins in the Mexico in the SEC. O couldn't win at Ole Miss and has proven that he cannot win at LSU. so please tell me Why O is a better coach than Mullen.

I think another way to look at this is Moo St is to Ole Miss in their state and tradition what Okie State is to OU.

Alleva needs to be let go. Hire a new AD. It absolutely has to start there.
Definitely this! He's already displayed more than adequate "Just Cause" of dysfunction and negligence to be removed!

Alabama had done their advance homework and already had a new AD selected when Battle retired.

Personally, I'd like to see Dan Radakovich of Georgia Tech back in here. Mitch Barnhardt of Kentucky would also be a good choice.

There are numerous qualified candidates out there; problem is trying to cut through the good ole boy Louisiana network and hire the right guy.

BTW, this 37-7 loss to a mediocre, mid-level SEC team really PO'ed a lot of people. Will be interesting to see how many people are in the stadium at the start of the Syracuse and Troy games.
