If Nuss was your son, what would you advise him to do?

If he leaves after the bowl game he could compete for a starting spot somewhere else. If he waits until after spring practice to transfer , he could forget about starting somewhere else next year. He could stay and compete but I can’t see Kelly benching Daniels. Should he wait until his junior year to compete with Howard and Ricky Collins.

I would tell him to value the football more and preach ball security or he'll be on the bench whether he stays at LSU or transfers.

Transfer. He won’t beat out JD, and by the time JD is gone, Walker might beat him out

Stay and compete. Use the game of football son, don’t let it use you. If this is the school you want to be a part of then dig your heels in and go get what you want. Any place that would guarantee him the job right now probably isn’t a place that’s all that great. He’s going to have to compete no matter what. Grass isn’t greener on the other side, the grass is greener where you water it

The coaching staff will not let it be a competition. They will not let Nuss or Howard win the QB job.

What’s your logic in thinking that?

Son, you are a competitor. I’ve been teaching you to compete, at the highest level, your entire life.

Go out there and take JDs spot away from him. Make him your backup. You will have to work harder than everybody else. Get there earlier, stay later, lift more weights, practice harder, and spend more time watching film and memorizing the playbook. Damnit son! This is what Nuss’s do!

I would look at what BK is building in BR and say...you will be a Jr. leading a top 5 team with a chance at a ring / and a Heisman trophy.

Compete for a starting spot next year, with the knowledge that JD will be gone the following year.

Right, cause they would rather stick with a worse option out of spite.

I would advise him to not throw so many interceptions if he wants a chance at being the starter.

They will say it’s an open competition to them, but there’s a snowball’s chance in hell of them picking Nuss.

I would tell him to work your butt off to graduate in 3 years. Then have your redshirt Junior and Redshirt senior years to go all in on football to start and if successful have a great chance at making the league.

Daniels wouldn’t have stayed to be a back up.

I’d tell him to work like never before & remind him that backing up a QB who leads the team in rushing means he could be starting at any time.

Woodward and the boosters can’t allow this. It has to be mandated that there’s a real open competition.
