I'd assume he'd come back to LSU. I don't know the guy or anything but he seems like he'd like to play at LSU if its not for Tampa's organization so he can get his degree. I don't think money is all that important to his family (especially the little amount he would get in Indy baseball compared to the value of a degree)

If he didn't sign with an agent he could come back to LSU.

He could also play in an independent league, which is what Aaron Crow did I think.

Ladies please, the spirit is willing, but the skin is spongy and bruised.

I bet he signs at 11:49.

After being drafted 31st overall (later than expected), he called CPM to make sure he'd be welcome back. I think he kept all his options open and thus did not hire an agent.

I'm sure he is waiting it out till the last minute to see if they'll offer more. If they don't he will probably take the money would be my guess. If he comes back to LSU next year he could possibly get drafted higher but get even less money.

I sure would love him to come back, but don't get your hopes up guys.

This.

It's why I despise the date of August 15th. You stay on pins and needles every fricking year.

I think money is a big concern to him. I don't believe his mom is too well-heeled in the finance department. I wish him the best and hope he ultimately signs for a bundle.

Not sure about that, I think next year there is a hard slotting system.

An athlete can have anybody represent him as an "agent" and still maintain his amateur eligibility, just so long as no money changes hands.

My guess is that this guy is acting in an unpaid advisory capacity until Mikie signs. Then it can become an official client/agent relationship.
