What does that men for the hoops team?

I think with what we had returning and if he and Martin/Quaterman were even close to as good as expected....my expectation was we'd be a tournament team this coming year. And I think that a reasonable expectaion.

Mickey for me was a big part of that. I was impressed with what I saw and heard of him as a player.

Now it may be a hope more than an expectation this coming season.

We'll still be better than last season because we return everyone good (sans Carmouche) and add Martin, Quarterman, Odoh, Malone and Bridgewater.

Should still even make the NCAAT, granted, I bet we barely make it. Mickey is a difference maker, one that could help us win a few games IN the NCAAT if he ends up being eligible.

I really believe the NCAA will allow both Mickey and Shepherd to play. The whole situation stinks and it looks like a big black eye on the NCAA's part to hold 2 kids back from getting a scholarship and playing NCAA basketball just because they were misled in believing Prime Prep was a legitimate institution that was like any other sports "academy".

1) He's appealing, I feel like since it's a school-wide issue, it might be nipped in the butt. Especially since Deion has some power I'd say.

2) I think we will be fine, obviously not as scary because Mickey is a great talent. But I'd be very disappointed if we didn't make the tourney, with or without Mickey.

That's my thinking t-bird. One would expect at least a couple of the returning guys like JOB3, Hickey, Morgan and Coleman to progress and improve.

And simply the size of some of the newbies automatically should make us better.

The reality is that you only have to be about the 40th-45th best team to get in. I think we can accomplish that, but like you said...without Mickey it will more likely be barely...bubble time.

I think Mickey would make it an absolute expectation.

This is why I HATE prep schools. Fill kids heads up with BS for their own personal gain. These schools get kickbacks on top of kickbacks.

I think this will put Coleman in the post a few more minutes a game than we wanted/expected but we'll be fine. Losing that athleticism hurts though

Really? So I'm reading from that you think Coleman will get post minutes ahead of either Odo or the Aussie?

Or we could just go small I guess and try to spread and attack, but Coleman or someone else still has to guard the post more than likely so that would put us back where we were last year.

I actually expected Coleman could get a bit more mileage last year bringing 4's out on the peremiter and taking more advantage of that than he did. Maybe if forced into that role again he will have developed more of the game to do that.
