It all depends. You gotta make Herman say no 1st. If he runs the table and goes out and hires a big name OC like Lincoln Riley, Sark or Applewhite I wouldn't mind keeping him.

If LSU runs the table that would mean they would be National Champions. So frick yes you keep him.

Two losses but only 1 conference loss. And Auburn ain't running the table from here on out.

LSU won't be in the playoffs with two losses unless absolute craziness ensues.

But winning out would mean an SEC championship. He gets the job if that happens. But it won't.

Well, we could still miss the playoffs as a two loss conference champion. Or AU could also win out, in which case we wouldn't even be conference champs.

But yeah, if Orgeron somehow miraculously won the NC, then we'd have to keep him.

LSU could lose to Florida, win the SEC CG and be in the playoffs.

Not a chance in hell that and SEC Champion gets left out of the playoff.

You nailed it, it doesn't count if you don't do it a certain way.

You've got to recruit all the players, you have to beat everybody by more than the point spread, and you can't win with lucky breaks.

This is LSU, just winning isn't good enough for some.

Impossible to say that. Ole Miss had two losses last year and had they hung on the beat Arkansas would have won the west and likely the SEC...I'm not sure they would have gotten to the playoff.

It's ridiculous to even really discuss it, but if LSU were to win out they would really need Wisconsin to continue to play real good football from here on out.

How many times are people going to ask this question?

He's a d-line coach. You don't let a d-line coach who specializes in running bag drills with fat boys run a major college football program.

No chance. The SEC is weak. Auburn will lose a lot of games this year.

I could see it happening with 2 losses, especially if Wisconsin keeps winning, but zero chance with 3.

If LSU runs the table from here, that isn't really a question because no matter what any of us bozo's on this site think. That "interim" tag ahead of his head coach title will be taken off and he will be our next HC, and that you can take to the bank!!!

If he beats, Bama, Ole Piss, UF, Arky and TAMU this year on the way to running the table to steal a line from Edwin Edwards;

"only way BeBe is not the HC of the LSU Tigers next year is if he gets caught in bed with a dead girl or live boy!!!"

Hell yes. Not even a question.

Coach O isn't the same guy as he was at Ole Miss. That was 10 years ago. The man has grown as a coach. Hell 10 years ago Les Miles was a top coach, things change.

(Not to mention the Ole Miss job was horrible when he was there)

So a three loss SEC Champion is automatically in the playoffs if

Ohio State goes 13-0
Louisville goes 13-0
Stanford goes 13-0
Michigan goes 11-1
Alabama goes 11-1
Clemson goes 11-1
Houston goes 11-1
Utah goes 11-1

Really?

It's not something I expect, but for the sake of the topic here goes.

If LSU beats Bama, Ole Miss, Arkansas, A&M (all of which will be highly ranked) and then win the SEC outright - that resume would very likely get LSU in.

Again, I don't expect that to happen. I'm just gonna have fun being an LSU football fan again.

Well you obviously didn't watch his introduction.

He flat out said "I ran Ole Miss like a D Line coach, you can't do that" and went on to say he learned how to delegate at USC.

Also, we consider Les Miles to be the greatest coach in our program's history.... guess what position he played? Offensive Line.

11-2 Sec champ you are likely in the playoff.

You don't let a guy go that can take you to the playoff hoping to find a guy that can take you to the playoff.

Now running the table is a huge "if." If he finished 6-2 that's a hell of an accomplishment but not worthy of earning the head job IMO
